Pre Reading Brainstorming

Students will be asked about different means of transport, food they eat, the
clothes they wear and different houses for living. After this discussion the teacher
will introduce the topic to the students.

Explanation

Teacher will read and explain the chapter to the students. They will get to know
how the lifestyles of the people around the world have changed over the period of
time. The changes in the dressing, housing and food habits among the people will
be discussed. Students will also learn that there has been great progress in
education and entertainment.

Post Reading Activity

Students will be asked to talk to their parents and grandparents about the clothes
they wore and the mode of transport they used for travelling.

Beyond the Textbook

Students will be told about Maglev train in Japan which runs on tracks made of
magnets. They will also learn about All India Radio (AIR) which is one of the largest
radio networks in the world.

Skill Learnt, Material Used, Key Vocabulary

Skill Learnt - The students will learn reading and writing skills.

Material Used- Blackboard, chalk and duster will be used. Online resources such as
pictures will be shown to the students.

Key Vocabulary- They will get to know about new terms like hover, courtyard,
scholars, enhance, commentary.

Learning Outcome

After the completion of the chapter students will be able to understand that with
change in technology, means of transport and entertainment, the lifestyle of
people has changed drastically, making our present much different from our past.
