CALL FOR BOOK CHAPTERS (Springer, USA)
Globalization, De-Globalization, and New Paradigms in Business
(We are particularly looking for chapters related to De-Globalization,
Impact of COVID 19, De-internationalization etc. We have got a contract
for this book)
Editors: Professor Justin Paul & Professor Sanjay Dhir
Globalization was embraced across the world in the last few decades.
Political and economic factors had an overarching influence on globalization
from the beginning. In the recent times, we have seen the integration of
world based on decreasing trade barriers, increasing foreign direct
investment (FDI) level and information technology (IT). Information
technology has accelerated the speed of globalization across all the types
and sectors of business. Globalization has evolved multi-fold and has gone
through different phases which has largely been underexplored in the
literature. Literature has commented on globalization from the view of
explorations and investments that has crossed national boundaries based on
traditional mechanisms of internationalization whereas contemporary and
modern mechanisms supported by information technology have largely been
unexplored. Further, an important dimension that influences globalization
decision is the nature and type of competition in each market. Competition
has been evolving across the world and the parameters that define
competition has developed beyond the coverage of traditional literature on
globalization requiring contemporary thought to be embedded in
globalization literature. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has brought in
new challenges for firms doing business outside their country. People
working in foreign countries face new problems every day.
OBJECTIVE:
COVID-19 has created an uncertain situation and firms have started de-
globalizing their operations. There are some forecasts that 2021-2030 will be
the decade of de-globalization. This book will build on existing literature with
original research to discuss contemporary dimensions of globalization and
de-globalization mentioned below:
• Discuss the different phases of globalization and relating it to the way
businesses across the world have evolved
• Critically analyse the changing dynamics of competition and the de-
globalization trends and processes
• Elaborate on the contemporary and modern form of globalization and
de-globalization especially focussing on forms dependent on information
technology
