A Kalinago Raid On A Tiano Village

It as very early all of th warriors gathered by the river

side ready to get into the canoes for the raid of the
Taino village.An old woman came and told a list of bad
things the Taino did to us, to tense us up.

We were ready,we got into our canoes and sailed to

the taino village.I had my spear ready and my bow.As
we arrive we could hear the Taino villagers shouting
‘the Kalinago,The Kalinago.’This made us laugh,we
arrived at their village we got out of our canoes and
rushed into the village.The villagers ran into there
huts,some even crying.

My job was to dipp the arrows tied with cotton into

oil so the archers could light them later.As I was doing
this I was hearing screams of pain form the Taino.I
had finished dipped the arrows now it carried them to
the archers.As I walked passed the lifeless bodies of
the Taino I could smell the metalic smell of the blood.

The raid was over,victory was ours.We took the

lifeless and wounded bodies of the Taino to our canoes
Because we don’t like to leave them behind.As I was
walking around there were villagers crying on the
floor.We left the Taino village with the bodies in our
canoes singing songs because we won the raid.
