As shown below, after disassembly (removal) or replacement of the parts, the adjustment(s) will be
required with the tools (devices) following reassembly.
At service facilities, therefore, where the below tools (devices) are not installed, do NOT disassemble
(remove) nor replace the relevant parts.

Points to notice for Lead-free solder products

• Lead-free solder is used for this product.
• For soldering work, the special solder and soldering iron are required.
• Do not mix the lead-free solder with the conventional solder.
• Use the special soldering iron respectively for lead-free solder and lead solder.
They can not be used in common.

Caution :
(1) During disassembly/(re)assembly, be sure to use the conductive mat (J5033) and wrist strap (J5033-9) in order
to protect electric parts from static electricity.
(2) When disassembling parts, make sure to memorize the processing state of wires/FPCs, attaching state of
screws and their types, and so forth.
(3) In some cases, what are used/explained in this manual may differ from the actual products in form/
texture, or may not correspond to the order of the actual working process.
(4) After disassembling/(re)assembling, check resolution by using the lens projector.

Note :
(1) In this manual, the application of grease and adhesive is indicated by coloring (grease: yellow/adhesive: pink)
the tool number as follows: CFD409Z EDB0011

(2) Perform operations in numeric order if encircled numbers are indicated together with parts.
e.g. ①②③　 Perform in numeric order from ① to ③ .

(3) In this manual, the connecting direction of FPCs is shown as follows:

Caution: For removing [#119], do NOT turn the lens barrel upside down, which will drop the 1st
lens-G unit (#B40).
[This is because the 1st lens-G unit (#B40) needs to be checked about its mounting position
before it is removed.]

Torque driver (J11375)

Set the zoom ring to the TELE-end

and the focus ring to CLOSE-end

Caution: Check the position of [#B40] before it is removed, because the accuracy of the FFD
adjustment has been obtained in this mounting position.

Points to be checked for [#B40]-mounting position

Check < 1 > the scale marking of [#B40] that is located

just under the unthreaded portion of the 1st lens-G
straight tube unit (#B25) and < 2 > the grooved position
#B40
of [#B40].
