The Meaning Of Edo Flag Of Benin Kingdom by Nobody: 6:09am On Jul 01, 2018
14 March 2014
I posted this yesterday and whilst I am happy that some persons adopted the flag, I was very very provoked
that some of our brothers and sisters who are suffering from the psychological problems of ethnical, cultural
and social identities came out openly to condemn this flag using a foreign parameter as their yardstick. They
decried it as fetish, diabolical, violence-projecting and pagan. If I may ask, do they really understand the
imports of the symbols and colors of the flag before jumping to conclusion. Let me help them at least;
the head of queen Elizabeth does the currency of Britain and many of the English national monuments.
(2) THE RED COLOUR, first note that we have the colors in two separate version here. In the horizontal
rectangle and in the three stars. In the rectangle, it is self explanatory. It signifies the precious blood shed by
our heroes in building the great empire we are all so proud of. Surely, you wouldn't want them to be forgotten
by their descendants who are today enjoying the peace they gave their lives for. Also recall that Ghana and
Ethiopia have this red colour in their flag too and for the same reasons-memory of their fallen heroes. We can
never forget easily the Benin massacre of 1897. A pogron that so much decimated our population that the Edo
people who by the 19th century were the largest nation in West Africa rain forest is today regarded as a
minority group. As for the stars, it highlights the beauty of the Edo nation.Rose the king of flowers ( ododo) is
red. 3 stars signify the current people of Benin,Esan and Afemai who are direct offshoots of the great empire.
We are beautiful and united family, aren't we?
White is for peace and we are a very peaceful people unless we are unreasonably dared. We should stop
using campus cult violence to define us. Every campus is populated by people from all ethnic groups in
Nigeria not only Edo people. It is wrong to attribute the cult activities in AAU and Uniben to only Edo student.
How many Edo persons were involved in the most violent activities in Nigeria...Niger Delta
Militancy,Maintesina uprising and Boko haram insurgency..nil
Need I explain this. Edo people are the most royal of all the nations in West African sub-region nay,the whole
of Africa. We have a royal institution that is as old as the British monarchy, older than the sefewa dynasty and
outlived the French empire. We are a dignified race ruled by majestic and honourable kings. Oba Eweka 1 was
not a tyrant like Caesar Borgia of Rome,Oba Ewuare was not a homosexual like King James of England and
Oba Ozolua the conqueror was never a pervert like Napoleon of France.
On a final note, it is an indisputable fact that rituals, violence and occultism has been practiced and executed
by Christianity and Islam than any our indigenous religions. This should be another topic for another day..

Nothing black on the flag? Nothing to show the world u are "black" from a continent of Africa.
U are wicked too. Created a post and still occupy 1 and 2 positions.

I don't agree with you. Not only Nigeria has a two colored flag eg China. And the flag was created during the
era of agriculture. Are leaders lost focus.

You suffer from racial inferiority complex hence you feel an aggressive need to project otherwise by putting
your race and culture upfront even where such does not belong.

say whatever you want, all land now belong to government now..
Even your wack history says that Onitsha was founded by a Benin Prince called Chima.
Does that sound Edo to you? Chi ma obi means God knows the heart.
So never drag Onitsha into your delusion again. You didn't claim Asaba that is closest, it is Onitsha you want
to claim.

Asaba is part of Delta state which was part of Bendel which was part of Benin Kingdom.
The Obi of Onitcha himself aknowledges his Edo roots and the Edo origin of his crown.
Nowadays, there are too many folks like you who just believe they can make up their history and write off
what they don't like.

Even the Palace of Obi of Onicha is known as Obi Eze Chima just like of Nri is known as Obu Gad.
Eze Chima was a Igbo from Aro that migrated to Benin. He might have learnt one or two things there, but that
doesn't mean Onicha has their root from Benin.
Be guided.

Not accepting truth which can be learnt through proper research is what makes you a doll person.
Trying to make up "your own truth" makes you a mentally challenged person.
And your way of discussing makes you a deluded and stupid person.

The Palace of Obi of Onitsha is known as "Obi Eze Chima" (Palace of King Chima".
The only alignment we have with Edo is the royal sword Obi of Onicha uses, outside that, the regalia, crown,
bracelet are purely ancient Nri.

The Divine Feminine and Sophia, the Spirit of Earth (Gaia) are female aspects of Divinity that are impregnable
by the masculine spirit of the Sun God (Solaris) as male aspect of Divinity ruling over the Solar System.
So, it is not out of place to note that when we migrated from Mars down here, history got distorted by the
Reptilians who are mostly patriarchal, and that is how religion and politics were invented with Lordship of Men
to enslave women by hiding data on the Divine Feminine, and enthrone men as leaders instead of women who
are actually the impregnable force of creation.
Women who know this truth do not mess around, and I am yet to see such a woman in Nigeria, when I find
such a woman. I wish I will ever find such a lady to share a bottle of wine with.

It's was nice reading about the Benin culture and how their royal flag and sigil came about. It was worth
reading.
Since our precious and valued history that should be taught in schools today has been lost to the gains of the
White man's knowledge.
