Level 1
Give short answers – single words or phrases.
Say: Example

Level 2
As Level 1, but give your answers in whole sentences, even if they are short.
Say: Example

Level 3
Ask and answer questions to put together a conversation with your partner.

holiday with you, what you and the members of your family like to do and your dream
holiday. For Level 5 also give details of a disastrous holiday you have been on.
(Levels 3–5)

You can show achievement at Level 3, 4 or 5, depending on how you carry out the task.
Level 3
Ask and answer questions to put together a conversation with your partner.
Ask and say: Example
 what you take on holiday with you (two things)  Qu’est-ce que tu prends en vacances?

 what you and the members of your family do  Ta famille et toi, qu’est-ce que vous faites
on holiday (three examples) en vacances?

Level 4
As Level 3, but your answers need to be more detailed and include adjectives, qualifiers, negatives
and connectives.

 how you would like to spend a special holiday  Un jour, je voudrais … ou …
(give two examples).
Level 5
As Level 4, but your conversation needs to be more fluent. Give reasons as well as opinions, include
time expressions, and make reference to the past as well as to the present.

 what you and the members of your family do
on holiday (four examples)
 how you would like to spend a special holiday.
