Aim
To enable students to extend their vocal technique and perform with artistry and musicianship.

Lesson Format
Singing 2 (BPAS612) will be delivered through 18, 30min private lessons with a designated singing
tutor. Lessons will be scheduled during the allotted timetable. At 600 level, it is expected that
students will provide repertoire suggestions and have an understanding of the styles being studied.
Masterclasses
As per 600 level, select singing assessments will be preceded with an accompanied Masterclass.
Students are expected to present their assessment items to the group and tutors will provide
feedback to each student for application in the final assessment.
Specialist Masterclasses
There will be one specialist masterclasses at 600 level. The specialist masterclass will be
unaccompanied and deal with topics that may require focus or consolidation.
Song Analysis
600 Level students will receive classes on accompaniment, aiding interpretation and advanced
understanding of musical aspects within the composition.
Students must contact their tutors directly if they are going to be absent. 24hrs notice is desirable.
If you fail to contact your tutor, then the make-up will be forfeited.
Practical Assessment 1
Weighting 20%
Format and • You will be advised of the running order prior to the day of the assessment
presentation • Please ensure that you introduce yourself and your song
• Wear concert blacks and women are expected to wear shoes with a
comfortable heel (possibly chorus shoes)
• Please thank the accompanist at the end of your assessment
