LESSON 2 – ASSESSMENT
Share some experiences/insight in PE class best describes in each principles.

1. Health and physical education programs are most effective when they
are delivered in healthy schools and when students’ learning is
supported by school staff, families, and communities.
 It is good that if it is supported well. I remember when I was in
elementary my teacher lets us asked permission to our parents what
activity are we gonna do. Then, if we have activity my parents will be
notified. It is good that parents are aware of what the child is doing in
school to become safe and healthy. Sometimes there are permits for
the community allowing them to know what are we gonna do in this
subject.

2. Physical activity is the key vehicle for student learning.


 It is true that physical activity can be defined as vehicle for student
learning because they are able to experience on how we can do it.
Example, when I was in second year college my professor let us do the
activity like badminton where in we have to do it but before that my
professor first asked clearly if we understand the instructions or the role
that have in badminton, then we can apply it in our demonstration. It
can easily learned when the lesson is applied.

3. Physical and emotional safety is a precondition for effective learning in


health and physical education.
 This principle is one of the most important thing if your students are
okay and they can stand alone. As a future educator, it is important to
know the physical and emotional condition of every students. When I
was in senior high school our teacher asked us who is not feeling well
or not okay. Before doing the activity, he first checked our condition if
we are okay. Our teacher doesn’t want us to be in danger or in worst
situation.

4. Learning in health and physical education is student-centered and skill-


based.
 This principle can develop and boost the skills of every learner. It can
determine if they can achieve the skills that are needed to have in
every activity. Example, when I was in second year college , I played
bowling. I was able to know the different skills that activity possess
because I already experience to play it. On the other hand, this
principle can attain the skills on how to do the different instructions or
procedures.
5. Learning in health and physical education is balanced, integrated, and
connected to real life.
 This principle is true because children can easily understand if the
activity that they have doing is connected with the real life. They are
able to learn and enjoy if they can saw and they can make it in
everyday life. Like for example, when I was in junior high school my
teacher discussed the activity that we gonna do. To easily understand
the explanation that she said, she connected in real life.
