KT on ADS Unlock/Reset

1. Type dsa.msc in Run and click OK to open the Active Directory Users and
Computer Console.

2. Now ADS Console will open as shown below

3. Now Right click on ADS Tree of ITC.IN and click find


4. Now enter the user AD ID and click on Find Now. Then it will find the AD ID
Name

5. Now Right click on the User Name and go to Properties and click the Tick
mark to Unlock the ID as shown below
6. If you want to Reset the password of AD ID, just Right click on the User
Name and Select Reset Password
7. Now give the default password in both fields and put the Tick mark on User
must change password at next logon. So that the user will able to change
his password at first logon.
8. Click OK.

9. If you want to create the AD ID, Make sure that user had submitted the URF
and got approval.
(Based on that, identify that the user belongs to which Dept)

10.Once you got the clearance, Go to the appropriate OU path and Right click
on the Users and go to New User as shown below.
11.Fill the all fields and click on Next to another page

12.Give default password in both fields and select the appropriate option and
click on Next

13.Now Click on Finish.


14.To Create the Hostname/Computer Name, go to correct OU and Right click
on the Computers. Then go to New and select the Computer

15.Type the Computer Name But ensure that the computer name which you
creates is not available in existing list
16.Click OK create the Hostname in ADS
