Answer to the Question No: 2

Q: What are the key technology trends that raise ethical issues today? Explain in brief.
Answer: Ethical issues long preceded information technology. Nevertheless, information
technology has heightened ethical concerns, taxed existing social arrangements, and made some
laws obsolete or severely crippled. There are four key technological trends responsible for these
ethical stresses. These four trends and their impacts are given below:

Advances in data storage techniques and rapidly declining storage costs have been responsible
for the multiplying databases on individual’s employees, customers, and potential customers
maintained by private and public organizations. These advances in data storage have made the
routine violation of individual privacy both cheap and effective. Already massive data storage
systems are cheap enough for regional and even local retailing firms to use in identifying
customers.

Advances in data analysis techniques for large pools of data are a third technological trend that
heightens ethical concerns because companies and government agencies are able to find out
much detailed personal information about individuals. With contemporary data management
tools companies can assemble and combine the myriad pieces of information about you stored on
computers much more easily than in the past.

The doubling of computing power every 18 months has made it possible for many organizations
to use information systems for their core production processes. As a result, our dependence on
systems and our vulnerability to system errors and poor data quality has increased rapidly. Social
rules and laws have not yet adjusted to this dependence. Standards for ensuring the accuracy and
reliability of information systems are not universally accepted or enforced.

Think of all the ways you generate computer information about yourself—credit card purchases,
telephone calls, magazine subscriptions, video rentals, mail-order purchases, banking records,
and local, state, and federal government records (including court and police records). Put
together and mined properly, this information could reveal not only your credit information but
also your driving habits, your tastes, your associations, and your political interests.

promoting this department of business.

High cost of internet: The broad band internet costs are relatively high in Bangladesh assimilate
to Asian region. The broad band facilities are also cover the short range of total population. till
now in Bangladesh the price of all computers, and computer related devices are sky scraper. The
mass richness of computer and computer technology are far behind from the low and middle

Problem in product selection: Suitable products for basic demographics for example age;
gender and ethnicity, market trends and customization of customers, buying habits,
psychological and geographical factors and proper design of the products are major obstacles for
e-commerce industry in Bangladesh

Unclear product delivery & return policy: On time product delivery and complicated return
policy are still a challenge in e-commerce. Lacks of proper delivery time of product, unfriendly
attitude from parcel companies, undefined return policy etc.

If we want we can easily overcome these problems if we want. All we can do is give the right
information to those who are selling the product so that they can deliver the product to the right
address and they can send the right product. And what kind of problems can be dealt with very
easily if those who are vendors are a little honest

Q: Why should you like to introduce networking in your organization?

Answer: We should like to introduce networking in our organization because it’s

1. Efficient utilization of resources,

2. Data sharing,

3. Speedup data sharing,

4. Efficient communication,

5. Ensuring backup of data,

6. Simultaneous access

7. User friend.
the network is considered one of the most critical resource in an organization, both in the
private and public sectors. In today’s competitive market, responsiveness to customer or supplier
demand is often a decisive factor in the success of an organization. Networks are created to
provide a means to satisfy an objective or need. These objectives and needs are frequently
critical, therefore the networks itself is critical. Consider the metaphor of a transportation
networks such as roads, highways, rails and many more. If any of these conduits were to become
suddenly unavailable, our ability to distribute food, clothes and products would be seriously
compromised. The residents of a town or country who need the food, clothes and products are
the “end users” of this particular sort of network. Similarly, a network is made to supply a way of
transmitting data, sometimes essential data, from one computer to a different . The accuracy and
speed of daily business transactions for giant organizations are vital to their success.
Unscheduled disruption leading to the failure to process these daily business transactions are
costly and potentially disastrous. The widespread use of networks extends the reach of
organizations. These remote interactions with customers, suppliers and business partners have
significantly benefited countless businesses. it's correspondingly positively impacted the general
productivity of the many countries. Such productivity gains, however, are only nearly as good
because the network.

Q: Why does fiber optics or optical fiber as acknowledge as the best wire-based medium of data
transmission?

Answer: The fiber-optic cable consists of strands of clear optical fiber. The thickness of every is
analogous to a person's hair, which is bound into cables. Data are transformed into pulses of
sunshine which are sent through the fiber-optic cable by a laser device. Data are transmitted at
rates varying from 500 kilobits to many trillion bits per second. Fiber-optic cable is considerably
faster, lighter, and more durable than wire media. it's compatible to transfer larger volumes of
knowledge. However, fiber-optic cable is harder to figure with, costlier, and harder to put in.
Until recently, fiber-optic cable had been used primarily because the high-speed network for the
web, another wide area network, and metropolitan area networks.

That’s the reason, fiber optics or optical fiber as acknowledge as the best wire-based medium of
data transmission
