Band the Board Game Lesson Sequence

Students already know their B-flat and E-Flat scales. Students have learned scale degree names
for all the notes in each of these scales.

Rehearsal Objective (What will your student’s be able to do as a result of this rehearsal with
you?)

Students exercise scale skills such as chromatic, quarter note – eighth note patterns, adding
emphasis to specific scale degrees. The overall goal of this game is for students to master
fundamentals and make their instrument facilitation better.

Assessment of the Rehearsal (How will you know if your students can do what they need to?)

Students play in small groups which helps me assess more intensely. They will play with
accurate rhythms, notes, and tempo while maintaining good intonation and tone. Blend of their
small ensemble will be good.
