Editorial - june 2009

First of all I would like to thank everyone who spend their few cents to buy this fanzine. Hoping to bring back
the spirit of Punk & Oi! back into the scene. Trying to inform you about bands, scenes, music, and other shit that
I’m forgetting, that you have not been aware of. It seems that the sound of rebellious kids has been forgotten.
New music, styles and attitudes have moved in, but in reality they don’t mean anything. This is the first edition
of ‘Skunx Come Back’ and I tried to sell it as cheap as possible. I’m making no profit out of this, as you can see
since is so cheap. And what you pay is for the printing of the pages. I would love to see one day punks and skins
rise again, and bring back the good old days of unity and good music. Sadly, the last generation of kids borned in
the late 80’s have killed the scene. New bands come out, and they sound worse and worse every time. Either, they
are skins or punks, they lost the attitude, and the fashion became a key for their “success”. Most of the articles
I’ve wrote are based about bands from the 80s, and early 90s. I decided not to write about the over rated bands
like Cockney Rejects, 4 Skins, G.B.H., Oxymoron, etc, because it only takes one click on the internet to find out
about them. There were hundreds, thousands, of bands in that era that had more attitude, sounded better, and had
way more to say than the bands that I have mention. Even though, most of the articles on the zine are skinhead re-
lated, it does not mean they don’t sound good. Give it a chance, and listen to what they had to say, as well instru-
mental side of the songs. Finally, I just hope the music comes back someday.

Carecas Do Brasil
A view on the brazilian skin scene
By the mid and late 70’s, skinheads were adapting a new style of music. Reggae was forgotten and left behind
in the late 60’s and early 70s. Oi! was in and it was here to stay. It became original music for the skins. Played by
skins and listen by skins. Strangely, England wasn’t the only country to have a taste of this delicious music. Coun-
tries like Brazil were keeping track of the game, and the skinhead and Oi! ideals arrived faster than expected. Sao
Paulo was the first city in South America to receive this phenomenon, and it was the beginning of the expansion of
the skinheads and Oi! music in the rest of the Latin countries. I got in contact with Felipe, who’s been around the
Brazilian Skinhead (Carecas) scene before , and I managed to interview him. Giving detail by detail of the growth
of this movement in Brazil. Felipe, who lives in a city cost of the Paranaense port in Brazil. It’s 27 years of age and
has been aware of punks and skins since he was 14 years old. Passionate by football (soccer), beer, good look-
ing girls and punk rock. Hates modern football and ugly girls. Felipe has written many articles in relation to skins,
punks, hooligans and casuals for Brazil, Latin America, Europe and even Asia.

ShARPIES
The forgotten subculture
In the 1960's, England introduced two white, working class cults that are still very well known today around the
world. I'm talking about the Mods and the Skinheads. Both tribes ruled the streets of Great Britain and it came as
a big shock to everyone. No one fucked with them, and if you confronted them, you must have been a very tough
guy. As the early 1970's arrived, the Mods were out and the Skins were there to stay. They expanded their image
and ideas all over Europe, and perhaps even into Australia, that big piece of land that is all the way in the southern
side of the planet. How they did it? I don't know. But have you ever heard of the 'Sharpies'?

Believe it or not, in the late shaved their heads and left a mullet in

Interview with Comando Suicida
I cannot write a zine with out not talking about the best Oi!
band to hail from Argentina. Comando Suicida was formed in
1984, the first skinheads in Argentina as well. Comando Sui-
cida considered themselves “Third Position”, refusing to be
associated with the left or right wing. The band has released a
few LP’s and EP’s, which today is very hard to to come across.
Today, Comando has gained much respect in the Oi! world
and became as just as influential to the movement as the
Cockney Rejects. I stole this interview from my friend Felipe’s
zine, ‘Informativo Inimigo’, a very well organized Brazilian
skinhead zine that came out in the early 2006.

(Interviewed by Informativo Inimigo 2006)

We plan to keep recording new material and continue play-
