Added KO requirement for Da Ji & English names of
the ambushing Orochi officers for Orochi's PI,
revised notes for Ina's & Mitsuhide's PI and
confirmed KO count for Zhu Rong's PI

2. Introduction
______________________________________________________________________________
- The purpose of this guide was to provide all gamers with one source
for the requirements to collect all characters personal items (PI).
- Every effort has been made, and continues to be made, to make sure
that the EXACT requirements are listed. This is not an easy task as it
involves thorough testing of requirements that were originally written
for the import version, Musou Orochi. With that said, there may be some
characters that have more than the necessary requirements listed. In
those cases, following the guide should still get you the item.

a. General Info
- Enhances type action for that character (R1 abilities enhanced) + 4th
Gallery picture
- You CAN obtain certain characters personal items at the same time
- When you have completed the requirements successfully, you will receive
"A unique item has reportedly been discovered! Hurry to claim it!"
- The item location can be found by checking the history and highlighting
the "unique item" message
- The color of the boxes may differ from the JP import version. I tried
to verify the colors today for both SW & DW characters. For both, I got
a black box with golden trim. Previously, I got items from a box that
looks like Goemon's treasure boxes in Shu 4-X. In any case, the box will
look different than the ones normally lying around the levels. Break it
open to reveal the ITEM bag icon.
- To verify that you have the item, you can check the lower right-hand
corner of the Team Info screen (select the character) & it will display
the unique item & its name. Also, on the character select screen, a
little box shows up to the right of the character model icons. Finally,
the 4th picture in the Gallery will show up once you have the item.

NOTE: These are only recommendations & there are other ways to get the item,
just make sure you fulfill the basic requirements. Also, triggering
the "allied forces are advancing" counterattack event does NOT need
to be done before Cao Pi arrives.

f. Other Characters
Once the base captain in the bottom is gone, run or ride a fast horse,
whichever you prefer & get to Cao Xing on the top FAST. Defeat anything
that comes to you, but don't go out of your way to defeat one or two, its
not worth it. At this point, you pretty much fight your way up to the
area where the defense captain is holding the entrance to Lu Bu's area.
Of course you want to ignore them, but in that area, I believe there are
3 generals with good amount of troops, you can get a few quickies in
before the next step.
As I said earlier, to keep Sidewinder alive on the bottom for Lu Xun, the
reason why that is a must is because it buys you time to get from the
bottom to the top & anything you defeat along the way. If you defeat the
bottom 4 generals ASAP, Sakon Shima will send out the engineers right
away which forces Masamune to charge, this is not the best way to
maximize the onslaught at his base.
You shouldn't over kill at the top area, just whatever comes at you or
around you, unless the enemies in the next area comes to you, don't go
for them if you can. On this stage, time is your only enemy keep that in
mind. The next step is crucial in my strategy, it is the key to your
success or failure. As you run to Masamune's base, you will come across
Tsunenaga Hasekura, you should annihilate him and all his man, but more
importantly, this is precisely the time where you want Sakon Shima to
send his engineers. If Sakon sends the engineers too soon, Masamune will
take all the soldiers from that base to the frontline which lessens the
respawn rate of the that base, if he sends them too late, you will have
to waste time wait for him to leave. If you time it perfectly, you should
run into that base just as Masamune is out, so that you can lure the base
captain away & start to build up your KO. I would recommend you to have
around 325-350 KOs & time around 56-55.45, otherwise you would have a
difficult time to get enough KOs in time. On top of that, when the base
respawns at full capacity, you should get 2 sets of footmen & 1 set of
the blueish servant of the serpent king. That means 15 of them must come
out continuously from the very start, if not, you have no chance.
According to my calculation, you can get about 150-160 KOs per minute if
all of them regenerate.
Some of you might be wondering why all of a sudden that base stops
sending out troops, that is because Masamune has broke through the
coalition frontline & took over a base down there, if he gets in too
deep his men will no longer respawn from that base.
I actually got mine on hard, because you can build up bigger KOs easier
before you even reach Masamune's base. I wouldn't really recommend doing
this on Easy, at least Normal. However, it could work. I tried it on
Easy, & got around 950 KOs in 9 minutes.

g. History [PIAFAQ]
This section was created to provide a link to the Personal Item Analysis FAQ
by Roahm Mythril. Basically, if you're interested in the history behind the
names of the Personal Items, his guide provides plenty of information for each
character. He also sites his sources of information in case you wish to do
further research. It's a shame his guide was not able to be posted to GameFAQs
since it is very informative, well organized & well written. I encourage all
readers of this guide to check out the link below:
http://www.dragonsoftstudio.com/personal/wo_pi_analysis_faq.txt
If you would like to contribute to his FAQ, Roahm has listed ways to get in
touch with him in his FAQ. I hope you enjoy reading it as I have!

4. FAQ/Credits/Copyright/Disclaimer
______________________________________________________________________________
A. You can obtain personal items on ANY difficulty level but keep in mind
that sometimes an easier difficulty means that your allies can die faster
due to having shorter life bars.
A. Yes, personal items can be obtained playing either Story or Free mode.
Q. Do you need to only use the character you're getting the personal item for?
A. First, you will receive a "unique item" message when you have
successfully completed the requirements. Then you have to locate the item
on the map & break open the box to collect the item bag. After the level
is complete, it will display the name of the item & tell you that your
character's abilities have been enhanced. After that, you can see the
unique item listed under the Team Info screen in the bottom right corner
or on the character select screen there will be a box to the right of the
character model icons.
Q. I got the unique item message but I can't find the item?
A. Check the history & highlight the unique item message for the location
Q. Are you not allowed to load interim saves while getting a personal item?
A. No, you CAN use the interim save feature at any time while obtaining a
character's personal item. Saving either before or after receiving the
"unique item" message does not reset your progress, so you should still be
able to retrieve the personal item successfully.
A. The Pause feature is your friend. If time is an issue & there are a lot
of conversations or messages appearing on screen, pausing during a speech
will allow the voices to continue while stopping the timer. Also, certain
characters talk less than others, such as Wei Yan.
A. Many apologies for the inconvenience, but with 79 characters and many
thousands of people playing this game right now, someone is going to find
something wrong at some point in time. I'll continue to update this as I
am able to, & thanks again to Uzume, opfer_gv & everyone else who has
provided the correct methods when the guide is in need of updating.
A. Yes, you can. Zhao Yun & Yukimura Sanada is a good example. I will
leave the rest to you to figure out, though :)
