Academic Plan for Students 60% or Below

➢ Target: Students that are in the 0-60% range

➢ Strategy for those students:
➢ I pulled a grades report and filtered/sorted by overall grade.
➢ I made two groups in my course (Google Classroom/Gradebook, etc):
o 1) passing with 61% or higher
o 2) 0-60%.
➢ I set a release condition on each quiz & small assignment for the passing group. This makes it so
that the struggling students will only see tests and large assignments that will get them to that
60% (if they earn a passing grade on the assignments—Standards-Based Grading Approach
➢ I made a Google Slide resources page that has links to every review and test and resources for
the project (I plan to link this in my announcements for all students as well).
➢ I sent an email to the 0-60% students
➢ I sent an email communication to parents regarding this Academic Plan and their student’s
progress
➢ Once the students feel caught up with these assignments, they can email me and I will release
all assignments to them so they have the opportunity to bring their grade up if they wish.

I see that you are currently struggling to pass ____class. Don’t worry, there is still time to pass!

There are 4 weeks left for students to turn in assignments. If you start working on 1-2 assignments per week now, you will be
able to pass the class.

I have decided to set you up on an academic plan in to help you pass the class. If you start working this week, you can
definitely get these assignments completed and pass the class.

• You will only see 8 assignments needed to pass ___ with a 61% or higher (you must earn a passing grade on these
assignments)
o Login to the ____ class from the classes tab and you will click on overdue assignments to see them (see
example attached to this email).
o You can also access the assignments from the Resources link below.
o Unit 4 test and the Final exam will not open until a later date, so they will not show up in the overdue area
right now, but they are included in the 8 assignments.
o Project resources are in the content folder, not within the submission folder. You must access the content
folder for the actual assignment. (also, see resources link below)
• Use these resources (link to be added) to help you pass each test/project assignment.
• Once you complete all unit tests and the project, you can reach out to me via email if you would like more
assignments released to you so you can improve your grade beyond a 60% in the course.
