L55EX/SA-x-xxx lighting fixture.

The manual has been written for installation, user and first line maintenance personnel.

WARRANTY

Orga warrants that all products conform to the Orga specifications and are free from defects in material and
workmanship at time of shipment. Orga will repair or replace (at its option) F.O.B. factory, any parts or materials
found to be defective when properly used for their intended purpose. Such obligation shall be limited to parts
returned to the factory for inspection, properly packed and expenses prepaid, within twelve months of date of
shipment and provided that inspection shall satisfactorily indicate the defects.

In no event shall Orga be liable for consequences, special damages caused during transportation, installation,
adjustments or other expenses, which may arise in connection with its products or parts.

In no case are parts or equipment to be returned without first obtaining the written permission of Orga.

This navigational aids system is tested at the factory and operated satisfactorily. If connected according to the
Interconnection Diagram as part of the drawings, the system will operate as designed.

This warranty is to be declared null and void if Orga’s inspection indicates that parts or equipment have been
installed incorrectly, adjusted, rewired, modified, tampered with, etc., specifically, but not limited to the following:

• Incorrect input voltage is applied


• Installed with field wiring other than shown in the manual
• Any adjustments are made to the equipment
• Parts are substituted that are not in accordance with the manual
• The equipment is misused or abused

The warranty stated herein is exclusive. There are no other warranties, either expressed or implied, beyond
those set forth herein.

Orga does not assume any other obligation liability in connection with the sale or use of these products.

Orga’s liability on any claim of any kind including negligence for loss or damages arising out of or connected
with the manufacture, sale, delivery, repair or use of any equipment or services provided by Orga shall in no
case exceed the price allocable to the item or service, or part, which gives rise to the claim.

1 INTRODUCTION
Orga manufactures navigational aids systems tailor made to customer's requirements.
This manual describes the L55EX/SA-x-xxx lighting fixture.

This instruction manual provides information about installation, operation, and maintenance of the
L55EX/SA-x-xxx-xx lighting fixture.

3 INSTALLATION
The fixture is designed for base mounting on a rigid horizontal surface, in a position that meets with the
unrestricted visibility requirements. Due consideration must be given to accessibility, especially during routine
service and maintenance.

3.1 MECHANICAL INSTALLATION

Three equally spaced 9 mm fixing holes are provided, to accept M8 fixing bolts, arranged on a 246 mm pitch
circle diameter.

3.2 ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION

The cable connections are made on the terminal block mounted inside the fixture’s junction box.
The terminals are suitable to accept max. 4mm2 wires.

Voltage drop calculations shall be made by the installer in order to determine the proper size of supply cable.
Voltage drops of more than five percent should be avoided. In case the size of cable used does not fit in to the
equipment, a separate junction box can be supplied.

3.3 START-UP PROCEDURE

- Make sure the power supply is switched off.


- Check the correct mounting of the light.
- Make sure the correct power is applied before switching on.
- Power may be applied now.

Note: If lantern does not operate correctly, proceed with 3.5 trouble shooting.

3.4 CONDITIONS FOR SAFE USE

1. The cable entry devices and blanking elements shall be certified in type of explosion protection EEx e,
suitable for the conditions of use and correctly installed.
2. Only fixed shifted cables may be imported. Operator has to guarantee an appropriate strain relief.
3. To comply with the EMC guidelines, shielded cable is required.
4. Before closing the dome, please make sure gasket is fitted and threading is greased sufficiently. Grease with
Copa slip or Molykote longterm W2.
5. Terminals suitable for looping upto 4mm² conductor.
6. Internal and external earth connection provided.
7. The enclosure may only be opened under non-hazardous conditions.

4 MAINTENANCE OF LANTERN SHELL
In order to achieve maximum continued light efficiency it is essential that the fixture and globe is maintained in a
clean condition at all times.

LAMP INSPECTION

The L55SA/EX-x-xxx helideck perimeter light is equipped with a long life QL lamp. It therefore does not need
inspection of the lamp. The lamp cannot be exchanged by the platforms personnel. An exchange program for
these units is available.

5 TROUBLE SHOOTING
The lamp does not light.

No power available Measure the power supply at the lantern junction


box terminals.
If power is available but the lamp does not light
exchange the lantern.
If no power supply is available check the lantern’s
control system.

The lamps intensity is low.

The lantern shell is dirty Clean the lantern shell.


A voltage drop exceeds the voltage range Check the voltage drop and increase wire
dimensions if needed.
