Applying SFX Makeup

SFX makeup or Special Effects Makeup is used in movies and theater

productions to simulate anything from a cut to a completly different face. In
todays makeup industry, people who can apply this type of makeup are very
valuable. For beginners the first place to start is creating fake cuts! 

Supplies
Fake Blood Makeup Brushes Eyeshadow (Black, Brown, Tan,
and Red)
White Eye Liner Pencil Scar Wax

Makeup Grade Scapple Foundation

I Promise It Wont Hurt

Step 1: Prep
Choose the placement of
your cut.
Draw the Outline with the
white pencil
Take nickel sized amount of
scar wax and roll into a
worm like shape
Apply scar wax over drawn
line.
Step 2: Building
Smooth the edges with
the scapple on both
sides by dragging from
the center down through
to your skin.
Take scapple and make a
line through the middle
of the wax from top to
bottom. This will be your
"cut"
For additional smoothing
take your finger and rub
along the edges.
Step 3: Make it Real
Apply foundation over the
scar wax with a brush.
Blot dark brown eyeshadow
over the scar wax.
Blot red eyeshadow in cut
and inbetween the brown
eyeshadow on the outside.
Generously paint the fake
blood into the cut.
Lightly add fake blood the
the surrounding areas.

TIPS
If the scar wax wont mold, use Burt's Bees Chapstick to rub on the wax to help soften it. 
Fake blood is thicker than stage blood.
Fake blood WILL stain your skin. Prevent by having a layer of foundation  or scar wax under
it. 
If it looks bad, its good! You cannot mess up. 
Hide in the dark and scare your family members once it is done.
