REFLECTIVE ESSAY

CE Projects 2 – CE509 is a part of the curriculum of a civil engineering student. In this course, the student
must be able to provide a design project to a certain problem with the use of the knowledge and skills that
the student have learned from other courses taken. This course is one of the major course of the program
civil engineering since it will give the student the understanding on how to use the lessons that he/she have
learned.

As a civil engineering student, this course is not an easy course as it consumes so much time for
researching, for gathering data, and for seeking help. This course is not done only by the students but with
the help of advisers. Through this course, I was able to experience what teamwork is. I believe that I am
lucky to have a hardworking team. We barely have misunderstanding that is why it is not that heavy to do
the design project. Having such of kind of team really means a lot to the project because we don’t waste
our time arguing or competing with each other instead, we try to understand the ideas of each member. In
this course, I have experience a lot of sleepless nights to do the design of the project. This course needs
patience and hard work. I have learned a lot of things because of this course. Not just in doing a formal
paper or manuscript but also in applying the knowledge that I have learned in other courses. I was able to
understand why certain topics were discussed in other course.

In this course, we were guided by our instructor, Engr. Rhonnie C. Estores. During our class meeting, he
never fails to give us advices on how we should do our design projects. He always gives us tips and guides
and provide examples on certain topics. He is the kind of instructor that always encourage his students to
do his best. He believes in his students which makes us, students excel more in what we were doing. I
want to thank him, our instructor, Engr. Estores, for guiding us and giving us advices in doing our design
project. I believe that without his guidance, we will not be able to do what we have done in our design
project
