Article no. 2 about the taking ownership and responsibility for an action is the best because take
ownership when we believe that taking action is not someone else’s responsibility. I believe taking ownership
and responsibility for the action made in a relationship creates trust and dependability in the role you play in a
relationship. It demonstrates also to your partner the willingness to be honest and vulnerable which is a trait
that must have in a healthy relationship. Your partner will not rely onto the affection but it will be built with trust
in your relationship.

You can’t take control of your life until you’re accountable for your behavior and the choices that you
make. When you dodge responsibility, you spend more time inventing excuses than trying to right the ship.
When actions don’t have consequences, there’s no reason to work hard. There’s no incentive to be determined
and there’s no motivation to up your game. That can cause you to get lazy, sloppy, and stale.

Earth and Life Science

Part I:
Question: What was the first life form that existed on earth? How did they exist?

Your claim:

The first life form that existed on earth is Cyanobacteria, also known as blue-green algae, started out on Earth
quite a while ago. Possible fossil examples have been found in rocks that are around 3500 million years old, in
Western Australia. Cyanobacteria, and bacteria in general, are prokaryotic life forms. This basically means that
their cells don’t have organelles and do not have distinct nuclei their genetic material mixes in with the rest of
the cell. This characteristic is distinctive of bacteria and archaea; all other life forms on Earth, including real
algae, consist of eukaryotic cells with organelles and with genetic material contained in one place.
Cite from the article two evidences that support your claim:

Evidence 1:

Prokaryotes were the earliest life forms, simple creatures that fed on carbon compounds that were accumulating in
Earth’s early oceans. Slowly, other organisms evolved that used the Sun’s energy, along with compounds such as
sulfides, to generate their own energy. Cyanobacteria then went a step further: they started to utilise water during
photosynthesis, releasing oxygen as a by-product. Over time, enough oxygen accumulated in Earth’s atmosphere to
allow for the evolution of oxygen-metabolising organisms.
Evidence 2:
But we may owe bacteria more than the air we breathe. It is likely that eukaryotic cells, of which humans are made,
evolved from bacteria about two billion years ago. One theory is that eukaryotic cells evolved via a symbiotic
relationship between two independent prokaryotic bacteria. A single bacterium was engulfed by another one, and the
smaller cell continued to exist inside the other, which was beneficial to both. They evolved to become the more
advanced eukaryotic cell, with its membrane-enclosed nucleus.

Explain how your evidences support your claim.

Reasoning:

The Cyanobacteria is the first life form existed on earth because of the following indicators that the article
mentioned:

 Cyanobacteria, and bacteria in general, are prokaryotic life forms. This basically means that their cells
don’t have organelles and do not have distinct nuclei
 Prokaryotes were the earliest life forms, simple creatures that fed on carbon compounds that were
accumulating in Earth’s early oceans
 Cyanobacteria then went a step further: they started to utilise water during photosynthesis, releasing
oxygen as a by-product. Over time, enough oxygen accumulated in Earth’s atmosphere to allow for the
evolution of oxygen-metabolising organisms.
As we look elsewhere in the universe for life beyond our home planet, we think we’re most likely to find it
lurking somewhere where there’s water, and where there’s a heat source to make the water warm. Although
we know that some living things thrive in more extreme conditions, the combination of warmth and water seem
to be the most likely requirements for creating an environment that can support some kind of life

Part II: (Written Report)

Sometime around the turn of the millennium, an urban baby will be born whose birth will tip a crucial balance.
That day will see humanity change from being a predominantly rural to a predominantly urban species. Can the
world’s cities accommodate so many people sustainably? Will people find these urban environments
sufficiently hospitable? What impact will such growth have on the natural environment?

As more people leave rural environments for the steel and concrete surroundings of cities, there is a growing
recognition that they will need and want some form of vegetation present in their daily lives. Whether it is a
shady city park for recreation, a tree border for noise reduction or a wetland area for flood control, the concept
of urban greening is fast becoming a reality. Urban greening is seen as a strategy for simultaneously making
our cities more enjoyable, livable and sustainable.

A terrarium is a unique type of indoor gardening container that is fully or partially enclosed to allow heat and
light to enter while confining moisture. Terrariums can be entirely closed to prevent moisture loss, but often
they are left partially open to allow some airflow.

For any terrarium, you need:

 Clear glass container or used plastic container of a softdrinks. For example, 1.5 ltr. Coke, or 5 ltr wilkins
and any other container.
 Rocks (around marble sized, depending on the size of container)
 Activated charcoal to filter the water and help prevent growth of fungi
 Potting Soil (sterilized)
 Small plants of different colors, shapes, & textures. Try to get miniature plants that aren’t going to grow
too big for the container.
Procedure:

 Start with a layer of rocks, about one inch or so, at the bottom of your container. These will help the soil
drainage, so the roots of your plants won’t get water-logged.
 Add a 1/2-inch-thick layer of charcoal.
 Fill the container up to half-full with potting soil.
 Plant your plants. When you remove them from their little pots, carefully tease the roots apart and
remove some of the old soil so they will fit nicely in the terrarium. Arrange them to look nice. Leave
some space for them to breathe and grow. Pat down the soil so they don’t get uprooted easily.
 Add decorative pebbles, rocks, or whatever to make your terrarium look like a little garden world.
 Water the plants, but not too much.
 Place in indirect light.

Modular Distance Learning, involves individualized instruction that allows learners to use self-learning modules
(SLMs) in print, whichever is applicable in the context of the learner, and other learning resources like Learner’s Materials,
textbooks, activity sheets, study guides and other study materials. The teacher takes the responsibility of monitoring the
progress of the learners. The learners may ask assistance from the teacher via text message/instant messaging, social
media applications such as messenger. Any member of the family or other stakeholder in the community needs to serve
as para-teachers. In Modular, I have to manage my time for me to complete every Self-Learning Modules given to me.

In Modular Distance learning, you can pursue a job along with studies, no time wasted waiting for a tricycle or

Activity 1.1

Living conditions are vastly unequal between different places in our world today. And they have also changed
over time: in some places living conditions changed dramatically, in others more slowly.

Our individual stories play out amidst these major global changes and inequalities and it is these circumstances
that largely determine how healthy, wealthy, and educated each of us will be in our own lives.1 Yes, our own hard work
and life choices matter. But as we will see in the data, these matter much less than the one big thing over which we have
no control: where and when we are born. This single, utterly random, factor largely determines the conditions in which we
live our lives.

Today’s global inequality is the consequence of two centuries of unequal progress. Some places have seen
dramatic improvements, while others have not. It is on us today to even the odds and give everyone no matter where they
are born the chance of a good life. This is not only right, but, as we will see below, is also realistic. Our hope for giving the
next generations the chance to live a good life lies in broad development that makes possible for everyone what is only
attainable for few today.

Activity 2: Agree or Disagree

As a learner in time of pandemic, I Agree that the life expectancy in the developing countries is far more different
compared to developed countries because the developed country establish the access to healthcare, political stability,
basic human rights and equality, their economic, and education and access to information while the developing countries
are starting to established the said ways.

Activity 3: Essay

Today, wherever people live, they don’t have to look far to confront inequalities. Inequality in its various forms is
an issue that will define our time. Confronting inequalities has moved to the forefront of many global policy debates as a
consensus has emerged that all should enjoy equal access to opportunity. ‘Leave no one behind’ serves as the rallying
cry of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Inequalities are not only driven and measured by income, but are determined by other factors - gender, age,
origin, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, class, and religion. These factors determine inequalities of opportunity which
continue to persist, within and between countries. In some parts of the world, these divides are becoming more
pronounced. Meanwhile, gaps in newer areas, such as access to online and mobile technologies, are emerging. The
result is a complex mix of internal and external challenges that will continue to grow over the next twenty-five years.

New Media vs Social Movement

Contemporary social movements like so many other aspects of the modern world begin to suffer gradual
transformation, starting to have similar characteristics, even when sparked off in completely different scenarios.
Information and communication technology (ICT) has a dual role in this context, since the Internet is now used at times for
the mere diffusion of information, and at other times as the very means by which the demonstrations are organized, in a
process that feeds back on itself.

In the case of social movements, Internet and social media in particular facilitate the events and also brings them
to international attention at an unprecedented pace, enabling the uprisings to be literally monitored in real time.
The influence of the use of social media can be evaluated by assessing the technological, political, and socio-
economic scenarios. These contexts, identified in the literature review on social movements and social media, are the
macro elements that are proof of the living conditions in general and socio-political activity in the country and are therefore
considered to be the structural factors.

(cellphone) at iba pa.
