Islamiat 90

Q1 Briefly describe the main teachings and implementation of Hadis 7.

Answer: Jihad or struggle in the way of God is an act of worship and shows genuineness of faith.
Jihad is aimed at suppressing evil, stopping aggression and transgression but within the limits
prescribed by the code of conduct of war in Islam. Muslims believe that God grants all their physical
and financial resources, and so, they develop the spirit of placing them at God's disposal. Therefore,
according to their belief, those who sacrifice their lives during Jihad, are not dead: "Nay, they live,
finding their sustenance in the presence of their Lord." (3:169)

The Muslims are obliged to help their oppressed brothers in all places. Allah says (interpretation Of
the meaning): ' 'The believers are nothing else than brothers (in Islamic religion)" [al-Hujuraat 49:10]
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The Muslim is the brother Of his
fellow-Muslim ; he does not wrong him or abandon." Narrated by al-Bukhaari, Muslim added in
another hadeeth (2546), "and he does not forsake him." He said in al-Nihaayah: "Abandoning
someone" refers to when he leaves him to his fate and does not protect him from his enemy. The
jihad in Chechnya, Palestine and other occupied Muslim countries or countries that the enemy is
trying to occupy and take over comes under the heading of jihad for the purpose of self-defense.

If a man is not able to help his Muslim brothers himself by joining them physically in jihad then he
must help them and strive in jihad with them by means of his wealth if he is rich. Similarly, a woman
is also obliged to engage in jihad by means of her wealth. Jihad with one's wealth is mentioned
alongside jihad with one's self in the Book of Allah.

Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): "March forth, whether you are light (being healthy, young
and wealthy) or heavy (being ill, old and poor), and strive hard with your wealth and your lives in the
Cause of Allah. This is better for you, if you but knew" [al-Tawbah 9:41] "Not equal are those of the
believers who sit (at home), except those who are disabled (by injury or are blind or lame), and
those who strive hard and fight in the Cause Of Allah with their wealth and their lives. Allah has
preferred in grades those Who strive hard and fight with their wealth and their lives above those
who sit (at home). Unto each, Allah has promised good (Paradise), but Allah has preferred those who
strive hard and fight, above those who sit (at home) by a huge reward" [al-Nysa' 4:951

Whoever is unable to take part in jihad physically but is able to take part in jihad by means of his
wealth, is obliged to take part in jihad by means of his wealth. So those who are well off must spend
for the sake of Allah. Based on this: it is obligatory for women to take part in jihad by means of their
wealth if they have excess wealth. The same applies to the wealth of minors if there is a need, just as
it is also obligatory to pay zakat on this wealth. But if the enemy attacks, there is no room for
differences of opinion, because in that case it is obligatory according to scholarly consensus, to ward
off their harm to religious commitment, lives, and honor. Spending for the sake of Allah is one of the
best kinds of charity, for which Allah has promised a great reward. He says (interpretation of the
meaning):

"The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah, is as the likeness of a grain (of
corn); it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allah gives manifold increase to whom
He wills. And Allah is All-Sufficient for His creatures' needs, All-Knower" [al-Baqarah 2:2611 "Allah
gives manifold increase" meaning, this multiplication of the reward, "to whom He wills", meaning
according to the situation of the giver and his sincerity and honesty, and according to the situation
of what is given, whether it is halaal and beneficial and whether it is spent in an appropriate manner.
"Allah gives manifold increase" — more than that, "to whom He wills" — so He gives them reward
without reckoning.

Physical Jihad or A ed Struggle —— Jihad against all that prevents Muslims servitude to God (Allah),
people from knowing Islam, defense of a Muslims (country), retribution against tyranny, and/or
when a Muslim is removed from their homeland by force. • Jihad must be performed by the Islamic
rules and regulations in accordance with the Quran and Sunnah. Physical or military Jihad must be
called by Muslim authority such as head of Muslim Country after much consideration and
consultations with learned leaders.

• In Islam there is no such thing as Holy War or terrorism. Islam recognizes Jews and Christians as
the "People of the Book" because they all follow the Prophet Abraham, believing in Musa and Esa
(Jesus) teachings. For many centuries, Muslims have peacefully coexisted with Christians, Jews, and
people of other faiths, maintaining social, business, political and economic treaties. Islam respects all
humans and faiths as long as there is no religious oppression, forbidding Muslims from serving Allah,
preventing others from learning about Islam, and not respecting treaties.

• When Muslims were Threatened, and Madinah was attacked then Allah allow to fight back.

WHEN JIHAD IS NECESSARY? • Jihad Becomes obligatory when not only Ideology and Beliefs of
Muslims but also their lives, properties, homes, and everything else is in danger. • Whenever any
Muslim State is attacked by any other state becomes religious duty of every Muslim of that State to
fight against the invader. If the Muslim state under attack is not strong enough to defend itself, then
it becomes of other religious neighboring countries or states to help, if that is unsuccessful then it
becomes the duty of All Muslim states in the world to help her. Best example of this modern time is
that Afghanistan, when it was under attacked in 1979 by the Soviet Union, all Muslim countries
rushed to save it. • The attacker of Muslim state can be Any Anti-Islamic force, bad ruler of land in
which Muslims are living and other states who want to destroy Islam • It is the Last Struggle for
Muslims when previous techniques have failed.

•When Muslims can’t freely practice their religion or Pray, No Azan • The rule call to each and every
citizen of their country to participate in Jihad and their money. • If Muslims are not under ruler so
they can freely wage a war whenever they Want but if they placed under Islamic leader then
permission should be sought first

RULES OF JIHAD

+ Jihad is the ultimate expression of one's faith as it involves sacrificing everything in God's way and
defending Islam.
+ Those engaged in Jihad are trained to sacrifice their belongings and lives without hesitation:
"Fighting is prescribed to you though you may dislike it" (2:216)

For this reason, the Quran and the Prophet have repeatedly admired those busy in Jihad and ranked
them as the best Muslims.

+ The Holy Prophet fought battles, received wounds, and also witnessed martyrdom of his close
associates. declared his uncle Hamza as "the chief of all the martyrs" as he had first migrated twice
for Islam and later, laid down his life in the battle of Uhud.

+ The holy Prophet pbuh has devoted his life for justice and truthfulness He himself always donated
all his wealth for the betterment of poor and needy.

Most of the time He did not return his home back for three days due to distribution of wealth among
poor and needy in Masjid e Nabawi (pbuh) *Prophet pbuh even some time he had nothing in his
house. To help poor people sometimes he used to borrow but never refused to pay the beggar. the
time of migration he has sacrificed all his belongings in Makkah. *Prophet pbuh also tried much to
generate wealth for jihad purpose. He used to sit in mosque and keep on giving glad tidings to them
who give does the financial jihad because of his effort wealth was accumulated for battle of Tabuk.

+ The holy Prophet pbuh himself was the great example for all the soldier and those who put their
life in danger for sake of establishing good and eradicating evil. Prophet in Medina has fought 83
battle among them few battles are incredibly famous i.e. battle of Badr, battle of Khandaq, battle of
Uhud, battle of Tabuk, Khyber expedition. In battle of Uhud Prophet teeth was broken due to
enemy’s attack and rumor was spread among Muslim soldier that prophet pbuh has martyred.

*Prophet always wished to get martyrdom in the way of Allah battle of Badr he motivated his
companion and made them ready fight with those who were large in number but due trust in Allah
Muslim won this battle as angles were sent by Allah to help believers.
