Lab Report 9
To Display the Working of Voltage to Current (V/I) and Current to Voltage (I/V)
Converters for Electrical Measurement Systems using Hardware.

Objectives:
In this lab the objectives were:
 To sketch the output characteristic of V/I conversion system for electrical measurement
systems using MCM 7A op-amp module.
 To sketch the output characteristic of I/V conversion system for electrical measurement
systems using MCM 7A op-amp module.

Required Equipment:

Hardware:
 MCM 7A op-amp module
 DC Power Supply
 DMM
 Connecting wires

Software:
 Not required in this lab.

Methodology:
In this lab, we learned about the V/I converters and I/V converters and what is their use and how
does it work. A V/I converter was used to convert the given voltage to a current and a I/V
converter was used to convert current to voltage.
After learning about the voltage-current converters in depth we performed the task that were
assigned to us in these tasks first we converted voltage to current with the help of MCM 7A op-
amp module. In the first task we applied an 8V to the module in which it converted the 8V to
4mA. Similarly, in we again used the same 4mA current which was the output for the V/I
converter to produce a voltage of 8V. In this case we used the current and passed it through the
I/V converter and produced an output of 8V.

Conclusion:
In this lab, we learned how to use a MCM 7A op-amp module for V/I and I/V conversion and to
display the working of voltage to current (V/I) and current to voltage (I/V) Converters for
electrical measurement systems using hardware.
