Self - Examination

Look at yourself in the mirror and answer the following questions.

1. How can you describe yourself based on your own perspective or point of view?

“Her name is Janina. Just another random girl brought on to this world. She is a short-haired,
chubby, and fair-skinned lady trying to live a simple and humble life. She looks bold and courageous – of
which she thinks is foolish indeed – within society’s eyes. Little did they know she chose to wear a mask,
an armor, and built a wall for herself because she is afraid. At a very young age, she has acknowledged
that the world is cruel and is an unfair battlefield. She is a warrior, indeed. Every time she gets wounded,
she comes back stronger and fiercer. She made a name for herself, quite a reputation from the academic
institution that she came off. For her? Every bit of it feels like a lie, like a dream, or should it be called a
nightmare? She is still going on trying to find out who she is and what her purpose in life is. Janina wants
to prove herself she can be someone she could be proud of, someone that everyone would never think
of she could be. Life is a compilation of codes, and she knows deep down that she is born to decipher.”

2. What aspect of yourself do you feel good about? Why?

That also made me question myself. I’m not quite sure of what makes me feel good about
myself. Maybe I am too insecure about a lot of matters? But maybe there could be one or some. There’s
always a part of me that makes me want to help others, be there for them whenever they need
someone whom they could confide in, a helping hand that could settle small things. I feel satisfied
whenever I was of help to someone, feels like I am not just a good for nothing girl. Being able to ace my
mathematics subject makes me feel happy. Being able to create a literary piece once in a while makes
me feel good. At least there were things I am good at, and not everyone is given that kind of gift.

3. What aspect of yourself do you believe you have to improve? Why?

My entire being definitely needs improvement. Thinking that I am good enough and staying in
my comfort zone isn’t an indication that I am worthy of anything. Progress is the only thing that is
constant in this world that we are in and I won’t let myself be contented of what I think is okay and
sufficient. Keep moving forward and keep on pressing on.
