3 Installation

WARNING: Allow only personnel with appropriate

training and experience to Install, operate or service the
equipment. The use of untrained or inexperienced
personnel to install, operate or service the equipment can
result in injury, including death, to themselves and others,
and damage to the equipment!

Experience of Installation Personnel

The instructions provided in this section are intended to be used by personnel who have experience
in the following subjects:
o Industrial power and control wiring
o Laminating and mounting processes
o Industrial mechanical installation practices
o Basic process control and instrumentation

3.1 Alignment

It is important that the machine is placed horizontally and in a straight line, use a spirit level to help
adjust the machine. Minimum distance from machine to the wall or other fixed objects must be at
least 100 cm (see fig. 3.1).

Figure 3-1, 1420 FAS

WARNING: If the machine is not proper aligned and

secured, there are risks for serious personal injury and
damage to the equipment.

3.2 Electrical installation

WARNING: Risk of electrical shock. Failure to observe

may result in personal injury or death!

Safety during electrical installation

o Make sure the main switch or fuses for the plant line are turned off.
o A neutral connection to the ground is essential for safe operation. Without this connection,
there is a risk for electrical shock.
o A disconnected switch with lockout capability must be provided between the power source
and the equipment.
o The power supply wire gauge and insulation must be sufficient to meet the power required.
o Only fuses of correct type, voltage rating and current rating should be used.

WARNING: DON’T operate Lamina equipment under

the following conditions:
1. Without the covers panels and safety guards properly
installed. May result in personal injury or death!

3.2.1 Electric connection, Power inlet

1. Open the electrical enclosure door.
2. Route the power cable into the wire tray in the base of the electrical enclosure.
3. Connect each power cable lead to the appropriate terminal on the electrical board (see
fig. 3.2).

3.3 Pneumatic installation

WARNING: Don´t operate Lamina equipment under the

following conditions:
1. At a pressure higher than the rated maximum working
pressure of any component in the system. May results in
equipment or property damage.

Pneumatic connections
Make sure the main switch for the plant line is turned off. Make sure the electrical switch is turned
off. Lamina recommends installing a lockout three-way manual valve in the air supply line to the
filter and regulator. This valve makes it possible to relieve air pressure and look out the pneumatic
system before undertaking maintenance or repairs.
Connect the plant air supply to the air filter and regulator, situated on the second module. Make sure
the hose is secured correctly (see fig. 3.4).
The operating air pressure should be adjusted later to meet the requirements of the manufacturing
process.

Figure 3-3

Standard compressed air installation:

Minimum air consumption is 50 l/min.
The minimum operating air pressure is 6 bar or 0.6 MPa (80 psi)

NOTE: The compressed air should be dry.

NOTE: The air consumption can vary depending on production speed and/or properties of the
material in production.

WARNING: Never wash or undertaking maintenances

on the register, glue station and stop bar when machine is
connected to an air supply.
Always close the air valve and Main electrical switch
before undertaking maintenance on the register and glue
station. Never place fingers between pressure rollers and
stop bar, may result in serious personal injuries.
