1.2 Preamble
1.3 Objective
1.4 Scope of work

Technical Audit

 Inspect the immovable plant assets including the adequacy of existing infrastructure for power
export to the grid on physical inspection, review of technical specifications of key components as
well as historical log book data. Also, list out the modifications required, if any, including
estimated cost to achieve the designed output and efficiency.
 Review and opine on the suitability of boiler/ESP & fuel handling system for multi fuel utilization
(Mainly other biomass in the vicinity), especially dirty fuel, based on design data as well as daily
logbook data. Suggest required modification in the existing system along with estimated cost for
a particular fuel blend (fuel blend to be discussed during the site visit)
 Development of Power & Fuel balance under variety of likely operating conditions based on
both- design and actual performance.
 Review and opine on technical data inputs and calculations considered by the sponsor in the
business plan for accuracy, reasonableness and consistency with projection of energy
production, power export, fuel consumption and O&M costs for each plant.  Confirm by
development of a checklist that all the key equipment are design as per the design codes &
standards.
 Based on visual inspection, review of technical specification data as well as defined fuel blend
detailed note with backup calculation on equipment design life.
 In line with industry standard, review the suitability of monitoring system including DCS and list
out the additional instrumentation/system with detailed specifications that will need to be
installed.
 Identification of relevant risk factors for the projects involved during the operation stage and
their mitigation.
 Review the maintenance plan.
 Assessment of technical capability of the key plant team members.
 Review the daily equipment/operator logbook for identification of key barriers/breakdowns/
stoppages during plant operation and summary of the same.
 Suggest/advise on means to reduce the major breakdowns.
 To prepare & submit draft energy & technical audit report, make presentation & finalize/ submit
the final report.

 Submission of an execution work plan for the assignment for which Company provided
relevant data support.
 Company nominated specific persons from Engineering / Maintenance sections along
with a co-ordinator of senior managerial level for this audit.
 Ergon undertook an “Orientation Meeting” with management / Engineering. /
Maintenance personnel prior to start of the audit. Ergon’s team conducted all necessary
field trials and measurements.
 Ergon provided all the instruments necessary for conducting the field trials. (If any)
 Following instruments were used by Ergon’s team. (If Any)
