Arizona Senator Elect Kelly Townsend noticed this conversation taking place as well, and made a comment to the effect of, "I wonder who those guys are," I told her | recognized one of the men and would go find out. | approached the man | knew to be Scott Koch, and said a friendly “hello,” and asked if those guys he was talking to were “poll workers,” he responded that no, they were “private security contractors,” and that the gentlemen in the middle was the owner, and that he (Scott) was working for that company now. | acknowledged this, and made some other little small talk for a minute or so, then returned to give the news to Ms. ‘Townsend. | didn’t think much of it at the time, but | did find it curious that they had “private security” at the Tabulation Center, when the Maricopa County Sheriff's has been providing security that entire week prior. Because the subpoenas from January 12, 2021 have not been withdrawn or modified since their issuance, the County loaded the ballots onto trucks, Monday, March 1, 2021 with the intention of delivering the ballots to the Senate at 1700 W. Washington Street, as commanded by the subpoenas. Maricopa County requested the Senate confirm a time for delivery on Monday, March 1*, 2021. The County received a response at 5:08 pm on Monday, March 1%, from Senate's outside counsel Kory Langhofer indicating the Senate was unprepared for receipt of 2.1 million ballots or any of the physical equipment. We learned through the Senate majority party's PIO statement to a reporter of an “understanding” that the County would provide an opportunity for the Senate’s auditors to use the County's election facilities. That arrangement was certainly not contained in the subpoenas and consequently the County has not explored how the use of County facilities might become an option. The County is currently involved in municipal elections and cannot permit unauthorized persons inside the election facility. Please advise us when the Senate is ready to receive the subpoenaed materials and where they should be delivered. If the Senate no longer wants the materials delivered, the County stands ready to discuss next steps.
