CUS

C I am concerned because after

reviewing the chart of a Schizophrenic
patient and i noticed that the
medication Haldol was not given by the
nurse and it might cause bad effect to
the patient if he or she didn’t take the
medication.

U I am uncomfortable because when the

nurse told me that “Oh I forgot to give
that medication, give me the chart and
I’ll sign it. It doesn’t matter if the patient
can’t take 1 medication. There is no
cure for mental illness, am I right?” but
as a nursing student the medication of
the patient is really important to that
patient because that medication is part
of the treatment of the patient.

S This is a Safety issue because the

patient need to take the medication.
Because the medication that was not
taken by the patient is part of his or her
treatment for the condition of
schizophrenia, and lastly the
importance of that medication to the
patient is It also reduces aggression
and the desire to hurt others. It can
decrease negative thoughts and
hallucinations.
