MY AVTAR – ABRAHAM LINCOLN

MY SENTENCE – I HAVE NO REGRETS BECAUSE…

Hello guys, I am Abraham Lincoln. I was the 16th President of United
States Of America. I don’t have any regret in my life because I always
believed that regretting about the past will definitely going to affect my
present and my future and with this thought I never stopped myself.
There were many incidents in my life where I could have started
regretting and could have quitted but I always believed in myself. Let
me give you the timeline of those incidents then you will able to
understand properly. So let’s start with when my family was forced out
of our home and because of that I started working at the age of 7 to
support my family. In 1818 my mother died. In 1831 I failed in
business. In 1832 I decided to Ran for state legislature but I lost it. In
l832 I also lost my job. I also wanted to go to law school but couldn’t
get in. I had to do something so in 1833 I Borrowed some money from a
friend to begin a business but by the end of the year I was bankrupt. I
spent the next 17 years of my life in just paying off this debt. Then in
1834 I Ran for state legislature again and I won it. In 1835 I Was
engaged to be married with a beautiful girl but my sweetheart died and
my heart was broken and due to this in 1836 I had a total nervous
breakdown and was in bed for six months. But I knew that I could not
do this to myself. This was not what I always thought of. So again In
1838 I decided to become speaker of the state legislature but as it is said
situations are not always in your favour so I was defeated that time. In
1840 I thought to become the elector but again I was defeated. In 1843 I
Ran for Congress and I lost it. In 1846 I ran for Congress again but this
time I won and I went to Washington due to work and did a good job. In
1848 I Ran for re-election to Congress but this time I lost but my aim
was fixed that I didn’t wanted to quit at all. In 1849 I sought the job of
land officer in my home state but I was rejected. In 1854 I ran for
Senate of The United States but I lost. In 1856 I Sought for the Vice-
Presidential nomination at my party’s national convention and I got
even less than 100 votes. That time I was criticised a lot but I didn’t lost
my hope. In 1858 I ran for U.S. Senate again and again I lost. But as I
always use to say “I will prepare and someday my chance will come”
and finally with my determination and willpower in 1860 I was elected
as the 16th President of The United States of America. At the end I just
want to say one of my favourite quote “Things may come to those who
wait, but only the things left by those who hustle.”
