Virtual Static Events of BAJA SAEINDIA 2021

Guidelines
• The much-awaited final leg of BAJA SAEINDIA 2021 is here, which is further divided into 2
rounds: Static & Dynamic. Both the rounds are scheduled to be conducted in the 4 th week of
April 2021. This document shall cover all the aspects related to the Static Events of BAJA
SAEINDIA 2021.
• Considering the ongoing pandemic, the static events will be carried virtually over ZOOM
platform.
• Teams will be assigned a panel wise evaluation slot for each static event. Slotting will be
released separately on BAJA SAEINDIA forum.
• Teams are requested to prepare accordingly and join the link 15 minutes prior to the slot
timings. Link will be sent to teams separately over mail. No request for slot change will be
entertained if the teams miss their time slot.
• Teams need to join the ZOOM link with the following name format:
o For Design Event: Car Number_Name_Domain Name
o For other static events: Car Number_Name
• This year the teams will be evaluated on 6 static events with the introduction of
Manufacturing Event for the first time in BAJA SAEINDIA:

• Teams have the liberty of presentation format and number of slides unless otherwise
mentioned in the event guidelines.
1. Design Event:
• Maximum no. of students allowed: 10
• Breakout Rooms: Yes (4)
• Duration: 30 minutes
o 5 minutes for Setup & Introduction. (All members in the same room)
o 20 minutes for sub-system presentation in 4 breakout rooms: Vehicle & Overall
Packaging; Roll Cage & Ergonomics; Suspension Steering & Brakes; and Drivetrain.
o 5 minutes for feedback. (All members in the same room)
• 4WD/AWD evaluation will be done along with the drivetrain sub-system presentation.
• 4WD/AWD evaluation carries 25 bonus points which will be added to the Overall Score and
not the Design Score.
1.1. Design Finals:
• Top 5 mBAJA and 5 eBAJA teams will be selected for Design Finals.
• Design Finals carry 10 bonus points which will be added to the Overall Score and not the
Design Score.

2. Cost Event:
• Maximum no. of students allowed: 4
• Duration: 25 minutes
o 15 minutes for Setup, Introduction & Presentation
o 10 minutes for Q&A and feedback
• Breakout Rooms: No (All members in the same room throughout the presentation)

3. Manufacturing Event:
• Maximum no. of students allowed: 4
• Duration: 25 minutes
o 15 minutes for Setup, Introduction & Presentation
o 10 minutes for Q&A and feedback
• Breakout Rooms: No (All members in the same room throughout the presentation)

4. Sales Event:
• Maximum no. of students allowed: 4
• Duration: 25 minutes
o 15 minutes for Setup, Introduction & Presentation
o 10 minutes for Q&A and feedback
• Breakout Rooms: No (All members in the same room throughout the presentation)

5. CAE Event:
• Top 15 mBAJA teams and 5 eBAJA teams will be selected based on CAE Evaluation Report
and will have to give a presentation for Final Evaluation.
• Maximum no. of students allowed: 5
• Duration: 20 minutes
o 10 minutes for Setup, Introduction & Presentation
o 10 minutes for Q&A and feedback
• Breakout Rooms: No (All members in the same room throughout the presentation)

6. Go Green Event:
• Presentation will be done for top 15 teams. Top 15 teams will be selected based on the Go
Green poster submitted.
• There are no additional points for Go Green Event.
• Maximum no. of students allowed: 4
• Duration: 25 minutes
o 15 minutes for Setup, Introduction & Presentation
o 10 minutes for Q&A and feedback
• Breakout Rooms: No (All members in the same room throughout the presentation)

Note: Teams need to strictly follow the slot and presentation timings. Presentation time extension
will not be allowed under any circumstances.

➢ To maintain clarity and transparency, BAJA SAEINDIA has decided to release the format of
the scoresheet that will be used for scoring during the main event.
