Absences: 0 Tardies: 0

Affective:
Students are continuously working on developing their social/emotional skills. For
all students at Rivendell, we believe life skills to be just as important as
academics.

Study Habits:
---- is working hard to learn the expectations and routines of our worksession times. Once she
has all of her tools organized she is able to complete her work independently. She loves to
share her hard work with me and loves positive feedback. ---- seems very motivated to complete
her assignments and is able to finish and get to Free Choice almost every day. ---- seems to
enjoy working independently as well as one on one with me. She’s learned how to make
mistakes and work through the frustration. My goal for ---- this year is to continue increasing her
stamina for work as well as her concentration.
Social/Emotional Skills:
---- can be quite the social butterfly. She loves playing with other students and has a bright
personality that other students are drawn to. ---- is learning how to navigate through more
mature friendships. My goal for ---- is to have her understand what challenges she can solve on
her own and when she needs to involve a grown-up. Otherwise, ---- is well on her way to being
a wonderful leader in the classroom.

Reading:
Current Level: Pre-Reading
---- is currently working through our Pre-reading Program. These skills create an important
foundation for ---- literacy and will build her into a strong reader when she begins. The skills we
are working on now are:
● Counting words in a sentence
● Rhyme recognition and production
● Syllable blending, segmentation, deletion
● Repetition of 3 distinct sounds
● Visual discrimination
● Fine motor practice
She is practicing these skills with a mixture of seatwork, one on one lessons, and small group
projects. She will also be working with a wide variety of manipulatives like our “sound buckets,”
our “rainbow pebbles,” and our “rhyming houses.” For ----, we are mostly just solidifying these
skills and making sure they are consistent enough before we move onto the next level.
Math:
Current Level: Purple
---- has started off the year in the Purple math packet. She seems to enjoy math and has
already shown a lot of growth in her numeral recognition as well as her number writing. ---- has
a wonderful foundation of one to one and rote counting, which has made her progression
through the math packet much smoother! ---- is currently developing the following skills:
● Recognize and write numbers 0-20
● Make different addition grouping combinations correctly
● Recognize rods 0-12
● Patterns, sorting, sequencing, and shapes
● Understand concepts of “greater than” and “less than”
● Count using ordinal numbers (1st-12th)
● Count backwards 20-0
---- will continue to develop these skills through independent seat work, one on one teaching,
whole class discussions, and small groups!

Writing:
Formal/Theme Writing:
---- always loves to share her thoughts and talk through her ideas. This pays off when it comes
to our Formal and Theme Writings. ---- will sometimes need some prompting, but once she
begins recalling and retelling information, she loves it! I am always so interested to hear how
she thinks and draws conclusions from information that we cover. She is currently writing
underneath my writing. My goal for ---- is to begin copying my writing from one page onto her
own.
Journal Writing:
----’s journals are so detailed and thoughtful. She works hard coming up with her ideas and will
spend a lot of time figuring out something that she is passionate and excited about! She shows
a great attention to detail and really challenges herself to put her best effort into it! I love talking
to her while she’s coming up with ideas. She is so clear and knows exactly what she wants to
write!
