1 Introduction
1.1 Product Overview
The HP 245 G7 Notebook PC is a zero- or one-spindle notebook which has a 35.6 cm (14-inch) display
panel and supports UMA or discrete graphics. The notebook would suit budget-conscious customers,
students needing a balance of processing speed and graphic output, or practical enthusiasts seeking a
notebook for home and office use.

The notebook features a broad range of AMD processors, including AMD Dali, Picasso, Stoney Ridge and
Raven Ridge processors. The notebook also features superior graphics with AMD Radeon R2, R3, R4,
R5, Vega 3 Mobile Graphics, and Vega 8 Mobile UMA graphics.

Discrete graphic options are also available with AMD Radeon 520 graphic controller with a maximum
GDDR5 video memory of 2048 MB.

The notebook is available in Dark Ash Silver and ships to select countries worldwide except NA and
EMEA.

1.2 Key Features

The notebook has the following key features:

• AMD Dali Accelerated Processing Units (APUs): Dual-core AMD processors with a max turbo
frequency of 3.5 GHz.
• AMD Picasso APUs: Quad-core AMD processors with a base clock of 2.1 GHz and a max turbo
frequency of 3.7 GHz.
• Bluetooth 5: A wireless technology solution that transfers data at up to 2 mbps, has a
maximum range of 240 m (800 ft), and can connect to two different Bluetooth devices at the
same time.
• Windows 10 November 2019 Update: The latest Windows OS version (1909) with several
new features, including notifications that are easier to configure and manage, as well as a
Windows Search powered File Explorer.

3 New technologies
3.1 AMD Dali processors
The notebook supports AMD Athlon APUs, codenamed AMD Dali. These 14 nm AMD processors are
designed to increase processor speed while reducing the energy consumption, thereby maximizing
notebook performance and productivity. The processors draw 15 W TDP, however, the processors use
power efficiently, so all this added performance does not sacrifice additional battery life.

• Athlon Gold3150U (2.4 GHz, turbo up to 3.3 GHz) – Dual-core

• Athlon Silver3050U (2.3 GHz, turbo up to 3.2 GHz) – Dual-core
• Ryzen3-3250U (2.6 GHz, turbo up to 3.5 GHz) – Dual-core

The APUs support the follow features to enhance notebook performance:

• Multiple cores to handle the demanding requirements of technologies supported on the notebook.
• Higher turbo boost processor speeds to boost CPU performance and productivity, and enhance
graphics and multimedia performance, while reducing power consumption.
• Integrated gigabit Wi-Fi support, which allows for faster Internet speeds, depending on the
notebook’s configured Wi-Fi adapter and the speed of the customer’s Internet connection.
• Increased system memory speeds of up to 2400 MHz for dual-channel DDR4.

3.2 AMD Picasso processors

The notebook supports AMD Ryzen APUs, codenamed AMD Picasso. These processors have a 12nm
lithography and are designed to increase processor speed while minimizing the energy consumption,
thereby maximizing notebook performance and productivity. The Thermal Design Power (TDP) for
these processors is 15 W, but the processors use power efficiently, so all this added performance does
not sacrifice additional battery life.

The following AMD Picasso APUs are available for the notebook:

• Ryzen3-3300U (2.1 GHz, turbo up to 3.5 GHz) – Quad-core

• Ryzen3-3500U (2.1 GHz, turbo up to 3.7 GHz) – Quad-core

The APUs support the follow features to enhance notebook performance:

• Multiple cores (quad-cores) to handle the demanding requirements of technologies supported on the
notebook.
• A max turbo boost speed of 3.7 GHz to boost CPU performance and productivity, and enhance
graphics and multimedia performance, while reducing power consumption.
• Integrated gigabit Wi-Fi support, which allows for faster Internet speeds, depending on the
notebook’s configured Wi-Fi adapter and the speed of the customer’s Internet connection.
• Increased system memory speeds of up to 2400 MHz for dual-channel DDR4.

3.3 Windows 10 November 2019 Update (1909)

The HP 245 G7 Notebook PC ships preinstalled with the Windows 10 November 2019 Update (OS
version 1909). This update is not much different from the previous update, but it does offer several
new features:

• Third-party digital assistants will be able to activate above the Lock screen using voice
commands.

• You can now create events straight from the Calendar flyout on the Taskbar without needing to
open the Calendar application.

• On the Start menu, the navigation pane will expand when you hover over it with your mouse,
which provides users with more information about each icon.

• Notifications will be easier to configure and manage.

• The search box in File Explorer is powered by Windows Search, which will help to better
integrate OneDrive content online.
