Predecessor Products
The HP ZBook G4 Mobile Workstation Series is the predecessor to the newly released HP Zbook Firefly G7 Mobile
Workstation Series, which is comprised of the HP ZBook Firefly 14 and 15 G7 Mobile Workstations. The series share
some of the same characteristics but there are some notable differences.

Key Features
The notebooks in the HP ZBook Firefly G7 Mobile Workstation Series are ultra-slim, powerful and are available in
two different panel sizes: 14 or 15.6-inches. Both notebooks in the series support FHD and UHD panel technology
with narrow bezels and a privacy filter.

The notebooks feature integrated UMA graphics with Intel UHD Graphics 620 and more powerful discrete graphics
with the NVIDIA Quadro P520 graphics card which boasts 4 GB of GDDR5 video memory.

Key features for the notebooks include:

• Intel10th Gen (Comet Lake-U) processors: Low-powered quad-core and hexacore SoC processors that feature a
14nm architecture and maximum turbo clock speed of 4.9 GHz.
• Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 adapter: Provides wireless connectivity through 2 x 2 MU-MIMO antennas over the 2.4 and 5
GHz bands.
• Intel BT Audio Offload Technology: Enables customers to use a Bluetooth headset to talk when connected to a
voice call and video chatting app, for example Skype 2020.
• Windows 10 November 2019 Update: The Windows OS version 1909 that offers a few new features, including
third party digital assistants and an expansive navigation pane.

Compatibility
The HP ZBook Firefly G7 Mobile Workstation Series supports up to three independent display monitors with the use
of the HP USB-C Dock G5, HP USB-C/A Universal Dock G2 or HP Thunderbolt Dock G2. The docks are compatible with
both notebooks in the series and are available as AMO or DIB accessories.

Software
The Mobile Workstations can ship preinstalled with the following operating systems:

• Windows 10 November 2019 Update (OS version 1909)

• FreeDOS 3.0
The Mobile Workstations feature the Spring 2020 Commercial Software Build.

Service and Support considerations

Scope of support
The HP ZBook Firefly G7 Mobile Workstation Series supports the whole hinge-up and raw panel replacement repair
strategy in all regions that the notebooks ship to.

Warranty
The HP ZBook Firefly G7 Mobile Workstation Series supports the standard 1-year (1-1-0) and 3-year (3-3-0)
warranty in all regions that the notebooks ship to except Australia and India. Onsite support is included for
1-year (1-1-1) and 3-year (3-3-3) warranties in Australia and India only.

Optional care packs will be supported.

Service considerations
Stretch adhesive tape
To replace non-touch panels, service agents need to remove the stretch-release tape on either side of the panel,
located behind the panel. Standard panels have one strip of long stretch-release tape on either side of the panel,
while privacy panels have a set of four smaller strips that are located at each corner of the panel.

To remove the stretch adhesive tape, follow these steps:

1. Using a pair of tweezers, grasp the tab of stretch-release tape and pull gently. Take care not to break the tape
with the tweezers.
2. Once you have a firm grip of the stretch-release tape, carefully pull the tape out from underneath the display
panel.
3. While pulling the tape, wrap it around the tweezers or a similar tool, and continue until the tape clears the display
panel assembly.
4. Repeat this procedure for the removal of the stretch-release tape on the left side of the display panel.
IMPORTANT: If you break the tape at either side at the bottom edge of the panel, there is a secondary tab on the top
edge of the panel that can be used to remove the stretch release tape.
