PREFACE

It is very easy to give solution to the problem while sitting in an office but
difficulties arise when they are practically implemented in the market training thus
aims at giving the student a practical exposure of the highest level and the student in
acquiring the same.

The project aims at making the student aware of the market condition and how
the functional parts work in the organization. Training is an integral part of B.B.A.
and every student has to undergo the training for 45 days in company and then prepare
a project report on the same after the completion of the training.

On getting an opportunity to work with Kamdhenu Minerals Pvt Ltd .

we readily agreed to have a project in the prestigious company.


During the whole training, we get lot of experience and come to know about that real
business differs from the theory and learnt many new things, practically. I undertook
the project on "Inventory Management" at Kamdhenu Minerals Pvt Ltd
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
The successful completion of any project requires guideline and help
from a number people. I therefore, take this opportunity to express my profound

to me carrying out the project work.

1 INDUSTRY PROFILE
Inventory is the most excessive assets of a manufacturing company like soft stone and also

the idle resource. There are various inventory control techniques such as Economic order

quantity, Reorder point, safety stock, ABC analysis, XYZ analysis, FSN analysis, HML

analysis, VED analysis, Just in Time inventory control, perpetual inventory control and

many more. Out of all these, there are some techniques which are applied for inventory

control.

Softstone industry market shows that CY 2015 was the phenomenal year with 37.8 million

tonnes soft stone consumption against 38.1 million tonnes production, with indain leading the

market. But FY 2008 faced significant fluctuation in soft stone prices mainly due to

depreciating rupees and import duty reduction.

Soft stone industry consist of primary producers and secondary fabricant. The majority users

of soft stone are sectors such as cosmetic’s soaps and building material (black & white

cement)

Going through financial performance of the company it can be found that it is a constant

profit generating company. The company achieved a turnover of Rs crores against the

turnover of Rs crores during the previous year the profit after tax stands at Rs crore as

against Rs crore in the previous year. The decline in sales realization and net profit during

the year, compared to previous year is mainly due to lower\sales realization from export of

soft stone powder substantial appreciation of rupee

The research conducted in about the inventory control techniques applied in soft stone

Smelter Plant, and its effectiveness. The inventory of this plant increased from Rs crores in
FY:15 06 to Rs crores in FY:16 07 and it further increased to Rs crores in FY:17

08. The increase in inventory is due to expansion projects, increase in production, bulk

purchase of raw materials and white stone, duplicate indent of AP Item, change in man power

and increase due to spares. The research objective is to study and understand the inventory of

all materials, and analyzing the effectiveness of various techniques used in soft stone. Finally

recommending methods and strategies to control the inventory.
