Learning Objectives

 To prepare and develop learners for supervisory / management role in the


tourism /or hospitality industries.
 To provide understanding of progressive sustainability concepts,
environmental impacts and ethical issues for the industry.
 To develop the student’s ability to apply theory to practice through the use of
case studies.
 To explore the strategic issues in business development, rather than
operational level issues.
Learning Outcome

 Apply the concepts and skills necessary to achieve tourist / guest


satisfaction.
 Use knowledge of best practices to further sustainability (economic,
environmental, cultural and social) in the industry.
 Use knowledge and skills associated with problem solving, creative and
critical thinking, reflection and decision making to function effectively in the
classroom, community and industry.
 Demonstrate ability to perform basic and supervisory level job functions in
tourism and hospitality careers.
