Globalization, some say, is a form of imperialism. Along with the supposed invasiveness of
American culture - via McDonald’s, Hollywood, and CNN. First is McDonald’s, and they called it
as McDonaldization that developed by sociologist Goerge Ritzer in his 1993 book. And for him,
McDonaldization is when a society adopts the characteristic of a fast-food restaurant. “if you eat
like us, you are going to be like us” when in fact by eating like Americans people around the
world are only being inspired to look more like American’s in regards to obesity. Here in the
Philippines, McDonald’s introduce to us the hamburger and we start to like it and even made our
own version of it.

There's also a imperialism in film industry . Hollywood is an example of it. We know that this film
industry has big influence all over the world. Asian adapt their style of filming and making
movies. The Hollywood become the standard of filming and making movies or series. This
industry is known of high end cinematography and unique style of conveying stories.Their
stories is popular, with warm, predictably sunny weather and diverse terrain perfect for movie
backdrops. Here in the Philippines we also adapt hollywood movies. There are so many movies
that we adapt by hollywood. Example of it is the hollywood movie Friends with Benefits(2011) we
adapt it and the filming industry produce Unofficially Yours(2012).

Imperialism is just not influencing the food and filming industry it can also influence or maybe
manipulate people’s opinion in certain issue by using any media platforms.The media influences
so many people’s behaviour nowadays. The media can manipulate, influence, persuade and
pressurise society, along with even controlling the world at times in both positive and negative.
The invasion of the air waves by the Cable Network News has had serious impact in
contemporary in different countries when it comes in journalism. This broadcasting station
drastically altered the traditional methods of every countries news. The CNN is an independent
satellite broadcasting station based in Atlanta, Georgia, USA and owned by an American media
giant Ted Turner.

● The general ideas of this article is all about globalization. Globalization is all about
process of interactions between people,companies around the world. We have
globalization before, our ancestor practice this globalization by trading products to
other country. In fact the other practices of globalization right know is similar to the
globalization before. This helps us in many factors but this is become a big
controversial issue to others. Many oppose globalization,but this article tell to us to
do, we just need to know deeply the true meaning and how works globalization in our
lives.
