Environmental Engineering

 is a sub-discipline of civil engineering and chemical engineering.

 It is a professional engineering discipline that takes from broad scientific topics like chemistry,

will protect and also improves the health of living organisms and improve the quality of the
environment.

Work Environment

Environmental engineers work in various settings. They usually work from in offices while planning
designs or working on environmental permitting and regulatory issues. However, they may work at
industrial sites or outdoors while conducting a facility’s waste management activities.

How to become an Environmental Engineer?

 Environmental Engineers must have a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or a

related field, such as civil, chemical or general engineering. Therefore, cooperative engineering
programs, which provide college credit for structured job experiences, are valuable as well.

Pay:

 The median annual wage for environmental engineers was $87,620 in May 2018.

Environmental Protection Agency

 The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is one of the many agencies that work with
environmental engineers to solve key issues. An important component of EPA’S mission is to
protect and improve air, water, and overall environmental quality in order to avoid or mitigate
the consequences of harmful effects.
