Course Description:
This course provides an overview of business financial management. Emphasis is on financial statement
analysis, time value of money, management of cash flow, risk and return, and sources of financing. Upon completion,
students should be able to interpret and apply the principles of financial management

After completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1- Explain the concepts of finance and financial management.
2- Define the fundamental types of financial markets.
3- Evaluate the performance of the company using financial analysis.
4- Identify the concept of time value of money and its effects on the financial and investment decisions.
5- Evaluate the risk and return associated with different investments and assets.
6- Describe the concept of Capital Asset Pricing Model and its uses.
7- Explore the techniques used to evaluate bonds.
D) Professional Skills:
Understand basic finance concepts, such as the time value of money, risk and return, capital budgeting,
and financial statement analysis.
Interpret financial statements; discriminate between accounting value and book value, and accounting
income and cash flows.
Develop abilities to read and interpret financial reports and analyze its performance.
Evaluate various capital budgeting alternatives using Net Present Value and other Investment Criteria.
Compute the valuations for investment alternatives using various techniques.
Explain the problems of profit measurement and alternative approaches to asset valuations.
