B. SELF-REFLECTION
Direction: Based from your responses above, answer the following questions in five to
ten sentences. A rubric is attached on how you will be graded.
Format: Arial, 11, Justify, Single Spacing

1. People are sick and dying in alarming numbers all around us. Maybe we’re lucky
enough not to be sick or dying, but any of us could be soon. Everyone we know is in
danger. Our studies, jobs, and really our entire financial futures are in jeopardy
because of the pandemic. And to stay home is the only way we can be safe. How
have you been coping with the ongoing Enhanced Community Quarantine? In other
words, how are you?

2. How would you connect or approach someone amidst of COVID19 at this point of
ECQ? How are you helping the community fight against COVID-19?

3. What is the relevance of National Service Training Program with the global pandemic
that we are now currently facing?

4. Have you experienced to be a frontliner? If yes, how are you applying the lessons in
NSTP in your task? If not, what protocols would you recommend for the recognition
and protection of the frontliners?

5. We are about to experience the new normal since we can’t predict how long the
effect of this pandemic will last. One aspect that is greatly affected is the education
and we are advised by the Commission on Higher Education to adapt flexible
learning which includes the use of on-line and off-line activities will be given to
students to continue learning. No one knows when we can go back to school and
experience face-to-face learning.

Even before the existence of this pandemic, University of Batangas has implemented
the use of Learning Management System which made us advanced with any other
schools. With the implementation of this system, I want to know and understand your
thoughts about the new system of education in the new normal. With that, please
answer the questions as honest as you can:
A. What do you think about the Learning Management System (LMS) that we
practice in the University? What is your perception on the readiness of the
students in adopting a blended teaching and
learning approach in the next academic
years to come?
B. Is it a preparation or not in the new normal?

6. For you, to what extent is the freedom of expression of students? How responsible
do you use social media as a platform to air your concerns about the effects of the
recent pandemic most especially to you and the school?

1. Staying at home is the sacrifice we can all do so we can save ourselves, our families,
and our fellowmen from this distressing COVID-19. However, seeing the same walls and
doing the same things for 24 hours, 7 days a week can take a toll on us, especially to
those extroverts. So, here are some simple ways on how I stay sane and productive
during this crisis. The Department of Health is encouraging us to be healthy but with our
current routine of eat-sleep-repeat, it seems that we are fattening our curves. Thus, we
need to get fit. My goal is to wider my chest and to flatten my stomach so I visit the
application YouTube, it can help to do such as proper exercises.

There is something about breakfast that is so comforting. A plate of pancakes, eggs and
one hot coffee can be my little hugs in these heartbreaking times. So I start my day with
my favorite breakfast. I can feel energized while also getting comfort from a home
cooked meal and trying to catch up some positive thoughts on this pandemic.

2. The practices of physical distancing and self isolation are a crucial part of the plan to
reduce the spread of corona virus and we hope the number of deaths from the disease.
As important as it is to keep these measures in place. Your face-to-face interactions may
be limited, but they suggest using phone calls, text messages, video chat and social
media to access social support networks. Reach out to those you know who are in a
similar situation.

One of the most effective help in our community is staying at home. If everyone follows
this guide it may change what present situation is. Unfortunately, there is some fake
news about COVID-19 is floating around online. Whenever I see some of those, I report
it to the platform and let anyone posting/sharing it knows. I can help our community by
getting information from trusted sources like the World Health Organization and share it.
This can give a big help to our community.

3. This program aimed to enhance civic consciousness and defense preparedness in the
youth by developing the ethics of service and patriotism while undergoing training in any
of its three program components, specifically designed to enhance the youth’s active
contribution to the general welfare. Thus, since we are living in a modern world where
everything is possible with the presence of technology, it is a must that we get to apply
what we have learned in school. This is where the
learning from the National Service Training Program
course should be maximized.

One of the most important lessons that students have acquired in the said subject is the
value of volunteerism. It is very timely to extend help to the members of the community
who are experiencing the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). This is the best time
to reach out and ask the LGUs and other public and private sectors about the help they
need in order to monitor and control the spread of this pandemic. Packing of relief
goods, driving the transportation services, or being part of the medical team. These are
just some of the many things we can offer to the people. Truly, the real situation that we
are facing right now is the most fulfilling experience for those who have taken the NSTP
subject because this is the time they will understand the significance of the subject

matter and the importance of their involvement in community extensions which

contributes to the welfare of our nation.
4. Our health workers are the current heroes of the world. They put their lives and safety on
the line for all of us. One t thing that we could do is add more burden and risk to their
well-being, and as health professionals, they should be accorded full respect and utmost
concern.

So the least that we can contribute is to abide by protocols. We should never assert our
social status and political positions if only to beat around the bush. Further, we can
always lend them financial, material, and moral support. One way to cheer them on is by
appreciate them and their efforts as much as we can. They need our moral support as
much as they are needed by their patients. So, whether we create appreciation photos,
videos, tarpaulins, etc. or we prepare and send them warm meals, we have to do
something for them. Congress should provide hazardous duty pay differentials and
environmental differential pay to federal employees who are required to report to work
and risk exposure to COVID-19 through their jobs. Because federal employees are in
immediate danger of exposure, and current protocols provide no guarantee of protection,
employees who are required to work in facilities such as hospitals, prisons, airports,
military depots and arsenals and other federal campuses should all be guaranteed
hazardous duty pay.

5. A.) Perhaps the most common challenge students face in online programs is the lack of
face-to-face engagement with professors and other students. Online classes are
typically conducted through a virtual learning platform. This platform may include reading
materials, assignments, and even a forum or chat room for class discussions. Professors
can provide course instruction in a variety of ways, such as by sharing slide show
presentations, posting videos of recorded lectures, or even streaming lectures live.
However, despite the range of ways instructors can foster student engagement, some
students simply do not find a virtual classroom as engaging as a traditional one. The lack
of in person communication can become problematic for students who are struggling to
understand course material.
One of the concern in this issue is that some of the
students may not able to enroll because until now we
have no longer enough financial for ongoing school year so some students have to stop
and little longer they are gap in learning and may have a big impact.

B.) After all this issue, I think it is a preparation for a new normal. Because until now, we
don’t a vaccine so no one knows how long we still wait for the vaccine. In my opinion,
elementary and secondary should continue their journey because the subjects they may
have are still not so important. They should not worry about what they can only learn
rather they should be aware of their physical and mental health. In crucial part, those
college student especially 3rd year and graduating student should maximize their
knowledge especially in major subjects because it is a big help in their job.

6. In today’s generation, although younger people may have contributed in our society
because nowadays me as a student we already face how real society is. Just like in
facebook, netizens can talk about in today’s situation that other people can express what
opinion they have. For me, some students only express what they only but not
understanding the whole issue in other word some students only stand want they want to
rather to understand both sides.

Today, social media such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, have become primary
sources of information. They are also vehicles for fake news and disinformation. During
a crisis like the COVID-19 pandemic. I ‘am responsible for using social media especially
during a crisis, by sharing some posts of public health communicators have to be seen
as credible, transparent and trustworthy. People are hungry for information, hungry for
certitude, and when there is a lack of consensus oriented information and when
everything is being contested in public, that creates confusion among people. Removing
false claims about COVID-19 and elevating authoritative information are welcome steps
to help protect public health in this extraordinary time.
