CSTP 6: Developing as a Professional Educator
I continue to conduct my professional responsibilities
in an ethical, moral, and responsible manner. During
the recent COVID pandemic I have been vocal about
the need to ensure equity in our virtual classrooms. I
have worked with others to create more equitable
practices such as creating more accessible
assignments, reminding others that not all students
have internet access, and informing students about
resources they have to ensure they are able to access
the internet. In addition, I continue to advocate for
better mental health programs and resources for our
students. Even before the pandemic this was a
serious issue that has affected many of our students. I
have worked with students and staff in trying to get
the word out. For example, as my role as the adviser
for the student newspaper, I encouraged the staff to
publish information about the resources our district
has made available for students. I have also made the
necessary actions taken for students who may need
an intervention or more support.

In addition, I hold myself to the highest ethical

standards as a teacher. I actively take steps to treat all
students and staff with respect, follow all laws and
rules, and model appropriate behavior. 11/28/20

I hold myself up to the highest ethical and

professional standards on a daily basis. I believe it is
not enough to just meet the standards of
professionalism, but to be a model for others. I make
sure to be punctual for every meeting. be an active
participant, be supportive and positive with others,
and take leadership opportunities to improve school
culture. For example, I just coordinated a meeting
with colleagues on making AP classes more equitable
and supporting students who wish to take AP classes.
