Specify the Concrete and Reinforcement Parameters
In this exercise, you will learn how to specify the concrete and reinforcement parameters for isolated footings.
Note: In this Section, we will set all of the parameters as the default. In the next Section, we will design the eccentric isolated
footings. The majority of the design parameters will be identical to the typical footings and the default flag will save us time and
ensure accuracy as we move onto the other foundations in this plan.

Specify the Pile Layout
In this exercise, you will learn how to define the pile layout for each support in the Pile Cap Foundation Job. Pile Layouts in STAAD
Foundation Advanced can be defined using one of the following commands:
Pile Layout (Predefined): Used to specify a pile arrangement for a pile cap using a set of predefined pile layouts. Using the
predefined layouts, the program can automatically choose the best possible pile arrangement given the pile capacities.
Pile Layout (Parametric): Used to specify a pile arrangement for a pile cap by specifying a rectangular or circular pile arrangement.
Pile Capacity:
Unit: kip
Vertical: 60 kips
Lateral: 60 kips
Uplift: 40 kips
Pile Diameter: 10 in
Spacing: 3 ft
Edge Distance: 2 ft
4. In the Pile Arrangement dialog, highlight the 3 Pile Arrangement, Case 1 option and then click OK.
5. Repeat this process for each of the supports in the Pile Cap Foundation Job: #14, #15, #16.

Notice that the General Arrangement Drawing can be saved as a CAD drawing to assist you in creating your overall foundation
plan for your Construction Documents. (In your final CAD Drawings, you may have to shift the footings that were designed
eccentrically if they are not located at the correct spot on the drawings that were generated by STAAD Foundation Advanced.)
