This week has been quite a long week. It has been very busy and draining, but I have
accomplished more work, which is the goal. I had some difficulties this week that made the
second half of the week more busy and intense, but some things cannot be helped.
During the first half of the week, I worked on publishing the GC Connect announcement
and event as well as the Front Page GC announcement and event and also social media post and
caption for our GC Women’s Center Instagram page. I got all of that done on Monday, but on
Tuesday, I was not productive at all. I came down with food poisoning and could not get
Once I got over my food poisoning, I had to get back in the swing of things, but I still got
a good bit of work done. During the second half of the week, my Sexual Assault Awareness
Month team and I had our weekly meeting, but in person rather than virtually, so we could do all
the preparation and set up for our Movie and Paint Night event. We filled balloons with paint for
the paint portion of the event and taped them to a poster board so people could throw darts at
them to pop them. The point of this was to give participants an outlet after the movie, The
Hunting Ground, which is a very heavy film that discusses sexual assault on college campuses
and has victims in the documentary sharing their experiences with their assaults. Overall, it was a
very long day, but it was productive day. At our event on Friday night, I was really disappointed
that we did not have any participants show up for our event, other than our team members in the
Sexual Assault Awareness Month group. I believe it was a result of the issue we encountered
with getting a space approved for us to hold the event in. We had sent in all the proper
applications in plenty of time, but they didn’t begin approving April events until the beginning of
the month. We did the best we could, but unfortunately didn’t have the best result this time.
