This week was surprisingly much more active and busy than I predicted based off the last
couple of weeks. I actually quite enjoyed being a little more busy this week. Overall, I think it
This week has been very nice because I think it made me feel like I was more at an actual
job than at school. I did lots of organizing around the Women’s Center offices in the Hub. I also
was bust gathering and counting supplies that were in office. For our Take Back the Night march
event we will be carrying candles as we march and will be needing enough for all those that
show up to participate. We are planning on hopefully having around 75-100 people show up for
the march hopefully, so I was making sure to count the supplies we already have to see if there
was enough candles, paper wax guards, and plastic candle holders for our anticipated participants
and some extras for a margin of error in case we have more than 100 people show, which would
be awesome to see. Honestly, I kind of liked having specific tasks to complete. It was sort of
cathartic in its own way and it made me feel accomplished once I got everything organized. I
will have more tasks like this to complete next week as the event gets closer and closer.
Another very productive part of my week was meeting with my main supervisor, Dr.
Jennifer Graham. Every week we meet in a one-on-one meeting to check in and get updates.
However, this week we spoke about my resume and ways I can improve it. I really liked getting
feedback from Dr. Graham because she is very good at providing good feedback in a
constructive way. We spoke about potential things to add and she also pointed out that I am
gaining some leadership experience from my projects I am currently working on. This week she
asked me to create a master list of all the things that I could include on my resume and next week
we will refine it in our next one-on-one meeting, which is extremely helpful as I am job hunting.
