Week #14

This week was a rather frustrating week overall. Being in quarantine and being very sick

were very irritating obstacles. I also have been facing difficulties with my project, so it has been

a really long week.

For the majority of the week, I was still stuck in Dublin working from home in

quarantine, which was not how I wanted to spend one of the final weeks of my internship

truthfully. I felt very trapped in isolation, and I know it is the best interest of those around me,

which of course I want, but it made me feel helpless. Particularly because my teammates in my

Inclusive Sex Education group got the go ahead to finally begin a little bit of filming for out

project of creating the video library that we initially set out to do. It was exciting that they were

able to do a tiny bit of filming, but disappointing that I could not be there in person for it. I have

also been very worried about having this task be my main project for the semester because we

got less done than I had hoped we would when we set this goal for the semester. Due to being in

quarantine through Thursday, I am also having to rely on my team leader to send me the clips

that they recorded to me, and I have asked them for the clips a few times, but it is already Sunday

and they have yet to send them to me. It makes me feel a bit helpless because I can’t do anything

but hope that they send them to me in time, but if they don’t I fear that it will negatively impact

my presentation. I just feel that my presentation would greatly benefit from getting to actually

show some of what we have been working on all semester rather than just describing to my

imaginary audience what we have worked on all semester, and I believe in this project and its

importance, so I want that to be conveyed as efficiently as possible in my presentation. Overall, I

know that I am doing the best that I can under the circumstances. However, I do wish things had

gone differently this week.
