The Truth Is Revealed

Animal Farm is an allegorical novel, illustrating the real life of people, the most feared

and authoritarian political regime. The story based on the problem from the Russian revolution

m
and the Commit State during the Second World War. George Orwell - the author was trying to

er as
co
convey the messenger “absolute power corrupts absolutely”. There are suggestions that George

eH w
Orwell used the images of animals to show his predictions about a Socialist state. What the novel

o.

describes corruption, exploitation and deception can happen anywhere in every country, in every

stage of history. Animalism, a brutal dictatorial empire was built by the eloquence of poor
o

intellectual animals and enforced by the greed of revolution. Through Orwell’s writing, the

characters in the story reflect the personalities of Joseph Stalin and Leon Trotsky, the cruelty and

corruption of Joseph Stalin will be exposed. “Power to the animal” is their slogan.

In the Orwell’s story and also in real life, any animal or people that have the power can

be a leader to gain autonomy especially Napoleon and Snowball, the two smartest and brightest

pigs to succeed and keep going dynamic, motivate other animals to fight the revolution.

Napoleon and Snowball appoint themselves become the instructors because they were the

smartest and most knowledgeable. They drink milk, eat apples and use Mr. Jones’s house

according to the point the mink had disappeared, the apples were to be collected and brought to

the harness- room for the use of the pigs “You do not imagine, I hope, that we pigs are doing this

in a spirit of selfishness and privilege? Many of us actually dislike milk and apples. I dislike

them myself. Our sole object in taking these things is to preserve our health. Milk and apples

(this has been proved by Science, comrades) contain substances absolutely necessary to the well-

being of a pig. We pigs are brain workers. The whole management and organization of this farm

depend on us. Day and night we are watching over your welfare. It is for YOUR sake that we

drink that milk and eat those apples. Do you know what would happen if we pigs failed in our

duty? Jones would come back! Yes, Jones would come back! Surely, comrades," cried Squealer

almost pleadingly, skipping from side to side and whisking his tail, "surely there is no one among

you who wants to see Jones come back?” He used all the animals’ fear when there was a risk that

Mr. Jones and his friend might still be waiting for the opportunity to come back. All animals did

not want this happen, hastily agreed with the way that the pigs did. Napoleon became the only

leader after he discharged Snowball by nine dogs were always escorting around him and always

trying to bite anyone who near their master – Napoleon. Napoleon thought that Snowball’s plan

was just a dreamy, disproving his decision. He released nine fierce dogs like wolves chasing him.

Eliminating Snowball who is much knowledge and power, he ruled the dominance of animalism.

He forced everyone to follow his rule, creating labor in exchange for food. He had recently

awarded himself “Animal Hero, First Class”, and “Animal Hero, Second Class” with nine huge

dogs frisking round him and uttering growls that sent shivers down all the animal’s spines, all the

through the words and actions; selfishness wants to take control of the revolution.

In a communist society, the leader used language can abuse power. In Orwell’s Animal

Farm, the leader which are the pig used fluent language. Napoleon only taught other animals

how to pronoun the alphabet not long sentences. They created scare tactics, and create specific

laws, the seven commandments, thereby enabling them to control other animals. Squealer was a

talented liar; he manipulated the law and convinces other children to believe to untrue stories and

lies. He declared to all the other animals that no animals shall change the rules but he was the

first break the law of The Seven Commandments. Squealer edited the law secretly. The purpose

of this, he wanted to sleep comfortably in the bed of human which is Mr. Jones used every night.

Napoleon should not have been in Mr. Jones’s house, everything changed when the Squealer was

trying to explain to everyone that “No animal shall sleep in a bed WITH SHEETS”. The song

“Beast of England “has been rejected instead of a new song called “Comrade Napoleon” which

dictator, worthy of receiving a medal. “"Comrades!" cried Squealer, making little nervous skips,

as his guide when the attack begins. But there is worse than that. We had thought that Snowball's

rebellion was caused simply by his vanity and ambition. But we were wrong, comrades. Do you

know what the real reason was? Snowball was in league with Jones from the very start! He was

and which we have only just discovered. To my mind, this explains a great deal, comrades. Did

we not see for ourselves how he attempted--fortunately without success--to get us defeated and

humans is written down in a secret document which is only the three pigs can read them but the

truth is only one, that he is still loyal to Animalism. The hatred and anger of these animals were

growing day by day; they felt a vindictive hatred for aggressors (Mr. Jones) and the traitors

(Snowball).

Beside that, in addition, Napoleon’s corruption and the perfect lies of Squealer, they also

exploited the labor of all animals. Napoleon abused the power of Boxer and other animals

because he knows Boxer is the person who always does whatever he says “Napoleon is always

right” but he was a twelve years old horse that also means he has to retire but he does not even

animals to help them do the heavy work. Since the windmill was broken, their work seems to

double, all animals have more work to do and winter is coming but the food is getting less. There

were not enough food reserves for the winter. He always remembered the two slogans in his head

that “I will work harder” and “Napoleon is always right”. He fought hard as he could in the last

two battles, but I could not get any valuable rewards even the medal such as “Animal Hero, First

Class”, and “Animal Hero, Second Class”. He was working hard until his eyes began to fade, his

toenail was aching. At the end of the story, Napoleon and Squealer would sell him to a butcher.

This is very cruel for Boxer who always works hard; it is also the biggest regret for Clover and

Benjamin. Napoleon forced The Huns to devote four hundred eggs a week cause’ he signed a

contract with Mr. Whymper in exchange for gain and meal to keep the farm going on summer.

These Huns made a determined effort to thwart Napoleon’s wishes take the eggs away now was

murder. Nine Huns died in the meantime. The happened against but not directly by Napoleon’s

instruction. There is no word that can describe the exploitation of these animals.

All animal are equal. All the animals live under the leadership of intelligent and

extremely greedy of Napoleon and Squealer were accepting to be suffering and sacrifice.

Orwell’s work has cleverly caged the image of the animal to express the social in reality.
