the applicable model (or other identification) number, parts number and other
information for the specific equipment purchased shall be clearly identified.
C. SUBMERSIBLE PUMP
Vertical Submersible pumps are required to pump open well water to sump and are
required to operate properly and reliably for long duration continuously.
The motor shall be designed for maximum pump output, low noise level. The pump shall
be suitable for vertical installation.
The Submersible pumping units shall be self contained, integral pump / motor units
designed to operate at continuous full load in partially or completely submerged
condition without the need of any external cooling devices like water jackets.
The pumps along with their auxiliary equipment shall be suitable for the required duty
conditions and shall be designed and constructed for continuous duty at full load.
Pumps shall be suitable for a capacity range of 25% to 125% of duty point capacity.
Capacity - vs. - discharge pressure curve for each pump shall preferably be
continuously drooping from the shut-off point to the rated operation point and be
suitable for parallel operation. The pumps shall be designed to avoid cavitations at any
of the operating points.
The required duty range for a pump shall be on stable portion of its head-capacity curve
close to the best efficiency point. The head developed at the best efficiency point
shall be close to the required differential pressure so that throttling is not required
at pump discharge.
The equipment and auxiliaries shall be designed for quick and economical maintenance.
The rotating elements of the pumps shall be checked for critical speed in bending as well
as torsion. The critical speeds shall be at least 30% away from the normal speed for units
with flexible shafts and at least 20% away from the maximum operating speed in case of
stiff shafts.
All passages inside the pump casing and impellers, which may be inaccessible to
machining, shall be ground to a smooth finish as far as practicable.
The direction of rotation shall be clearly marked either by incorporating it on the casing
or by separate metal plate arrow securely fitted to the casing.

e) Testing of unloaded (Routine test)
f) Safety valve test (Routine test)
1) All the pipes and fittings including valves required for compressed air units & air
receiver unit up to surge tank shall be provided by the Tenderer.
2) The pipe work shall be completed with necessary fittings, valves, strainers,
supports, clamps, etc. whichever is necessary and shall form part of the contract.
3) The values of velocity used in pipe sizing shall conform to 8-10m/s as per normal
design practice.
4) Interconnecting pipe & pipe fittings work between compressor & air receiver.
