68 persons die as Typhoon Ompong transpired in areas of Northern and Central Luzon

68 persons died, 138 injured, and two went missing as Typhoon Ompong transpired at different
parts of Northern and Central Luzon last September 15, 2018.

The typhoon affected seven regions, namely regions I, II, III, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, NCR and
CAR.

A total of 2,968,010 persons or 713,004 families were affected in 5,797 barangays in the seven
regions. 15, 575 persons or 3,558 families were served inside and outside evacuation centers. 68
persons were reported dead, 138 were injured, and two persons went missing because of typhoon
Ompong.

43 incidents, like landslide, flooding, road slip, land subsidence, and vehicular accidents were
reported from Regions MIMAROPA, V, VI, and CAR. Other incidents were reflected under the tab of
roads and bridges.

A total of 402 areas were reported flooded in Regions I, III, CALABARZON, and MIMAROPA. Of
which, 191 areas had already subsided.

Actions were taken as soon as the typhoon left the area. Assistance from OCD, DOH, DSWD,
LGUs, NGOs, and other Organizations were received by the affected areas.
