30 persons die as a massive landslide occurs at Naga City, Cebu

30 persons died, 7 are injured, 57 went missing, and 6,208 persons or 1,493 families were
affected as a landslide incident in Naga City, Cebu occurred last September 20, 2018 around 6:00 AM

Five barangays in Naga City were affected by the landslide. 6,208 persons from five barangays
were brought to 10 evacuation centers. 30 persons were reported dead including a five year-old girl
named Janine Campanilla. 7 persons were injured and 57 are still missing.

The landslide damaged a total of 57 houses coming from three different barangays, including
Brgy. Mainit, Brgy. Tinaan, and Brgy. Naalad.

Action was taken as soon as the landslide ended. President Rodrigo Roa Duterte visited the
affected families and distributed financial assistance at Naga City Gymnasium.

Naga City, Cebu was declared under the State of Calamity on September 21, 2018 due to
damages brought by the landslide.
