MSSD MONITORS FLOOD-AFFECTED AREAS IN

MAGUINDANAO DEL SUR

MAGUINDANAO DEL SUR — The Ministry of Social Services and Development

(MSSD) conducted an assessment of the flood-affected areas in the
municipalities of Sultan sa Barongis and Shariff Saydona Mustapha on July
05, 2023.

Initial inspections have revealed that 3,000 families in Barangay Bulod,

Sultan sa Barongis, and 3,123 families in barangays Pagatin 1, Pagatin 2,
and Posao, Shariff Saydona Mustapha, have been severely affected by the
floods caused by consecutive heavy rainfall in the province.
The monitoring activities will continue in other affected municipalities until
July 08 to determine the number of households that require intervention.

This comprehensive assessment will enable the Ministry and concerned local
government units (LGUs) to develop targeted relief efforts and provide
necessary support to the affected communities.
