Greetings! The Department of Health is mandated to lead by Senate Bill No. 2026, An Act
Declaring the month of August of every year as “National Breastfeeding Awareness
Month”, the bill aimed to promote awareness and practice of breastfeeding being superior
in terms of advantages compared to bottle-feeding. This year’s theme is “Enabling
Breastfeeding: Isulong ang Ligtas at Malusog na pagpapasuso para sa
Manggagawang Pilipina!” The objectives of this year’s Breastfeeding Awareness month is
to Increase awareness of breastfeeding among working class Moms, Reduce the
patronization of formula milk for infants age 0- 23 months, and Implement the PPAN 2023-
2028 by scaling up food and nutrition security interventions.

The City Health Office – Nutrition will have the following activities:

Breastfeeding Awareness Month August 22, 2023 (8:00am to 12:00pm) at
Lecture and Cooking Demo Rosario Convention Center
Breastfeeding Awareness Lecture on August 31, 2023 (8:00am to 12:00pm) at
Breastfeeding Support Group Laram Covered Court

On this note, the City Health Office – Nutrition would like to invite three (3) participants
preferably Barangay Nutrition Scholars, Pregnant and Lactating to attend, participate
and provide travelling allowance on the abovementioned activity.
