Useful Formulas and Conversion C Page 7

To calculatethe cubic inch displacementof an engine:

Bore x bore x .7854 x stroke x number of cylinders= CID.
Example: (for a 16hp Kohler) 3.75 (bore size) x 3.75 (bore size again) x .7854 x 3.25 (stroke)= 35.89 CID.

To convertCID into CubicCentimeters:

MultiplyCID by 16.39 = Cubic Centimeters.
Example: 35.9 (CID) x 16.39 = 588 CC.

To convertCC's into Liters:

Multiplythe CID by .01639 = Engine Liter Size.
Example: 262 (CID) x .01639 = 4.3 Liter.
