1. Course Significance
The mission of this course is to provide the students with knowledge of English structure
which address their needs and abilities to have the TOEFL Paper test. The TOEFL course is
designed to prepare students for the TOEFL Preparation Test (paper test) that combines
language input (grammar, vocabulary, functions) with skills work (listening, structure, and
reading).
2. Course Description
After completing the subject, the students are expected to have knowledge about skills, sub
skills, and strategies necessary in order to take the TOEFL Preparation Test. The students
will produce output in response to a variety of prompts as well as build reading and listening
strategies with a range of texts. By the end of the subject, students will have also reviewed,
practiced, and extended their knowledge of more complex grammar and vocabulary
structures.

3. Course Aims

- The students are expected to have knowledge and skills in English as a foreign language,
especially listening, speaking, reading and writing to access information and IPTEKS that
wrote in English.
- The students are expected to communicate in English, oral and written form.

4. Course Strategy

The strategy used in this course are; lecturing, question-answer, individual task, pair work
(dialogue), group work (discussion, debating, and role play), games. Lecturing aims is to
guide the students of what they will do and then give question to the students related to the
topic discussed.

6. Assignments

1. Reading text should be read before lecturing/before coming to the classroom.

2. The students should do an individual assignment and/or group assignment to be
submitted on the right schedule.
3. Mid-test will be held on the eighth (8th) meeting (the material from 2 nd meeting – 7th
meeting)
4. Final test will be held on the 16th meeting ( the material from 2nd meeting – 15th meeting).
