Because of You

  Because of you is a song written by an amazing song writer and singer Kelly Clarkson

when she was only 16 years old. In this song it shows us one way people may release your

emotions of what is really going on and telling others that they are not alone and it is ok to

feel the way they are feeling. In the cover by Reba McEntire and sung a small part by Kelly

Clarkson you see it from a completely different perspective how to cope and deal with these

kinds of things. Women have been pushed around to the point they do not know who they are

anymore. They do not know how to do things alone, they feel like they cannot trust anymore,

they do not know how to love and so many other things. The way these two artists have come

together in ways and made it be seen by different perspectives is an amazing thing and is good

to get out there. The two versions of the songs put out the same things just in a different way

and different perspectives.

            In the original version of Because of you were sung by Kelly Clarkson, it shows a

husband and wife arguing in a home constantly getting into fights and not sure what to do

anymore. She wrote this song to help cope with the sadness that was brought on by the

divorce of her parents when she was 6. She does not want to lose the man she loves but knows

it is coming to an end. In this song Kelly at 16 wrote the song as a reflection of the impact that

she had when she was only 6 years old when her parents had divorced and how it had

impacted her. She becomes for careful and conscious to not let herself do the same mistakes

she had watched her parents do and suffer the way they did. She talks about the way that her

trust has been impacted due to seeing the divorce and not wanting it to happen to herself.

             In the cover by Reba McEntire because of you it tells a little different story. This

version of the song takes place on a stage of some sort in a very big place possibly a mansion.

The characters in this version of the song it seemed like these people had money and they are

at a part of some sort they are watching them perform as Reba is telling her story that she

experienced. We learned about how Kelly’s version was about how her parents were getting

divorced and how it had saddened her, so she wrote the song to help cope with that but in this

cover of the song Reba tells a story of woman being mistreated and how she finds strength in

herself to leave and get away before it ends up being too late. It is about a mother and

daughter being mistreated and trying to get away. How can one feel loved by anyone feel love

when being treated like this? When Kelly comes into the song and video it shows Kelly being

a figure of Reba’s daughter and how her mother did not leave someone that was abusive and

hurtful. Well now Kelly being a grown woman she does not trust anyone to not hurt her. This

pain has been pushed on her. Reba’s version of the song shows a different perspective is

going out to a group talking to an audience as she is performing people are watching her sing

as where in the version sung by Kelly is at the house, they are thinking back to a memory of

her parents fighting and getting a divorce that is a memory that is stuck there in her head.

They are both showing emotions that are being shown through out both videos and is very

important.

            The conclusion is they tell two different stories, but the cover is coming from Reba

McEntire and the original version by Kelly Clarkson. They tell us some of the same things.

They go through the pain these events that it has caused them and how they cope with it. What

they lost and how the cant trust anymore and cannot be themselves anymore has affected them

they have been through so much they want to tell them the story. They are trying to make it so

that other people who are experiencing the same thing. They show the pain they are going

through they are not alone they will. These two different versions of the music videos are

proving something and that something is important. They want women just like them that its

ok to feel this way and you are not a bad person for feeling like that. The reason for these

songs is showing them they are not alone.
